Talking of films you can't get much more reductive than...
Z is a 1969 political thriller film directed by Costa-Gavras, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jorge Semprún, adapted from the 1967 novel of the same name by Vassilis Vassilikos.

Only realised today one of the fleet has a double Z so I'm concluding my contributions to the thread with a montage.

This has just reminded me so can I add one more after the end, please?

Feel Free...I've moved the end!
Thanks to all the joiners in and the viewers, some excellent contributions as ever. I enjoyed it, hope others extracted some entertainment from it too. The naturally expiring thread now goes back into its slumbers in the FCF vaults and will disappear down the active topics list, and become invisible.
I think the objectives of my threadstarter opening post were surpassed by miles!

In the interests of laziness I will not be curating or moderating the thread with pedantry, just hope it gets a few joiners in. Couldn't care less about order or duplication.

But as Dylan imparts, Zed is not the end.

You have missed your very own car Gibbo! Poke the camera at it in an interesting location today and I will courteously wait until you have posted a pic before I move "the end" again!

Car's on the drive and going nowhere today Neil, unless things change.
Car needs a wash, fence needs a second coat of Cuprinol, the lawns back and front need cutting and I need a kick up the ass to get me started.

I'll take the pressure off If you get out later on in the beautiful Forest of Dean and take some artistic shots all well and good! From when you and Zoe were newly lovers!

Re: May 2023:Quickfire A to Z of anything/everything
Seeing a car with RYR in the registration number always reminds me of teleprinters...
Typing a full line (or more) of alternating Rs and Ys was a good test as it checked all bits of the 5-unit Murray (Baudot) code could switch between mark and space.
Another good test of the mechanical aspects of a teleprinter was to type M.M.M. for a few lines. This would switch alternately between letter and figure shift...
All these tests were best run at cadence speed from a perforated tape...
A typical test tape would be..
THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG 1234567890 TIMES
RYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYRYR
M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M.M
Just listening to how a teleprinter coped with that lot at cadence speed could tell you a lot about its mechanical health...
Happy memories from back I used to really love going to work...

I know it's late but I have to say Waylon Jennings, you probably think you don't know who he is. If you've ever watched Dukes of Hazard, he sings the theme song
