As it says in the dictionary:
iridescence
ĭr″ĭ-dĕs′əns
noun
1. The quality or state of being iridescent.
2. The condition of being iridescent; exhibition of alternating or intermingling colors like those of the rainbow, as in mother-of-pearl, where it is an effect of interference (see interference, 5); any shimmer of glittering and changeable colors. Exhibition of colors like those of the rainbow, especially a surface reflection which changes color with the angle at which the object is viewed; the quality or state of being iridescent; a prismatic play of color. It is due to interference of light waves reflected from the front and back surfaces of a thin layer transparent or semitransparent film.

I was going to post the "rainbow" here on the back of the wonderful but probably undistinguisable colour of indigo!mickthemaverick wrote: 12 May 2023, 19:48 As it says in the dictionary:

But seeing as it has the "iridescence" ticket, here's a second snapshot.

Car of the Day my choice
Camera doesn't always capture colours well, this is a gorgeous metallic very pale green. Saw a similar one today, same colour, a convertible which just looked stunning, and absolutely the part for the gorgeous sunny afternoon. It beetled off while I was photographing the A40. Strangely they currently paddle about in the well under £10k category at auction, and many struggle to find buyers at £5,000.

Re: May 2023:Quickfire A to Z of anything/everything
A Jaguar is good (and indeed if there was a manual version I'd probably look at buying an XK8, they (the autos, was no manual) do seem very underappreciated/ undervalued) but obviously only a single "J"
So feel duty bound to come back with a double:

I wouldn't on initial gut feeling said there were many J cars, but when I think more innit there's quite a few
Justy, Jimmy, Jetta, Jensen, Joke - I mean Juke, Jeep, Jaz
