AR online is an excellent source of information. Moving on from the BMC 1800/2200 which Crayford offered a conversion on links take you to other pages of info on the Austin 3-litre and the Princess models. https://www.aronline.co.uk/the-converte ... rd-estate/

As well as Crayford, a conversion via Torcars recieved the BL seal of approval and was available through showrooms, and elligible for supercover. It wasnt until the late facelift for the "Princess" the Austin Ambassador, that the design got the "hatchback" it should have had from the start.

I sold a black Ambassador to my friend, it was glistening, comfortable and he loved it but hell it was thirsty.

It troubles me that you once dealt in the trading of senior members of the diplomatic service Eric... Most, in my experience, are thirsty: usually for fine wine ;)

Sorry, word association. To me, an Ambassador is always the Head of an Embassy...

And they throw parties at which they serve towering plates of Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

Who knew!!

From first-hand knowledge I can state I've never seen them on offer at any Embassy 'do' and I've been to enough over the years...

A fake Clubman that claims to be a Cooper S. What a travesty

I suppose we should be grateful JLR did not badge that modern Jag as an E-Type...
