Those MG estates have a terrible design detail at the back, and every time I have seen one I can't help but wonder what we're they thinking!?!

That looks like a trick from the early German manufacturers, built in fragility to keep the dealers busy!!MattBLancs wrote: ↑25 Apr 2023, 18:20 Those MG estates have a terrible design detail at the back, and every time I have seen one I can't help but wonder what we're they thinking!?!

Here is a nice pair of "shooting Breaks" one made it to 67 examples, the other remained a prototype trailed in 1982 at the Paris Motor Show.
For the one which made it to 67 examples head here...

I invite those with a bit of curiosity to name the Castle in the background (yes no idea currently from me!)
For the other is this

Could go in the nice two tone thread too. A closer look at one of the Lynx Eventers...

A welcome addition to the thread...and here's one of your tales about it!
NeilGibbo2286 wrote: ↑01 Aug 2019, 09:14 Your Merc parts story reminded me of the old Rolls I bought in 1960, a 1928 20hp shooting brake, it needed a silencer so I called into the Brum Rolls dealer and asked what the chances were of getting one, "In stock sir." was the reply. but at £80 I had to leave it and rebuilt the old one from Castrol oil drums.

Youngest's Mini Clubman
My C5 after an argument with a wall.
Nice Volvo estate.
Best estate of all.
There are more but finding them is proving difficult.-

Some good ones there Steve, but the Clubman Estate fits so nicely with what I dug up before on the Thread. I presume its an old photo, but if it is your youngest's current vehicle that would be brilliant! and a very unlikely coincidence to boot

No, it was her second car, first was a Mini Cooper.
That photo is probably 20 years old.

The difficult day 2 of a thread. Posts required if it isnt going to turn into a one-day wonder...
So onto the Estate doors of the larger modern Mini although this one is 10 years old now
This one is badged as a Countryman. Flip up rear "door".
