The answer for these codes is described in the thread you just posted on here: viewtopic.php?p=624331#p624331
Remember the particle filter does not last forever - it has a service life. If it's coming to end of service life it soon won't be able to regenerate as the ash and cerine deposits are elements that cannot be burned off during regeneration and it is these that ultimately block the filter. What mileage has your friend's vehicle done?

Re: Berlingo Additiv Error P1434 and P1435
Thanks Marc.
Friends car has 118K, mine 123K (same engine). Both cars have had a dpf reset (at ~80k) so showing plenty of k left before replacement. No idea what happened at reset- replacement, a clean or just an eolys refill? Her tailpipe a bit sooty compared with mine but differential pressure seems normal so blockage unlikey?

Re: Berlingo Additiv Error P1434 and P1435
Ok, well these are completely different operations for different reasons.
The DPF isn't reset, it is cleaned or replaced and then the engine ECU told it has been replaced which resets the service mileage (however a clean will never be as good as a new filter so don't expect to get the same mileage out of it). But if the filter becomes blocked and is unable to regenerate, as measured by the differential pressure sensors, then you will get a warning and possibly a limp home mode.
As for the additive, that should be topped up when the low additive level warning message appears. After this has been done the additive counter has to be reset as the Eolys additive tank fluid is not physically measured, only estimated from the factory fill or the top up period.
The only difference may be that the original article was referring to the ADDGO separate additive ECU, which was fitted on earlier vehicles; this function and management has since been integrated into the engine ECU.
So I would need the VIN for the affected vehicle to determine if the code descriptor is the same (as these change with different engine management systems).

Re: Berlingo Additiv Error P1434 and P1435
Many thanks again.
VIN:VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Additive level shows nearly (too?) full (30/35) but status of regen inactive when tested (due to fault codes?). Soot level reading ok
Have cleared additive fault codes and will see if they return (at next fuel refill when pump is used again?). Also noticed battery could be on the way out (starting time too long error). This could be causing pump to stick?. Annoying that the risk clogging error is still there even though it has recently regenerated. Does it need x many successful regens before it goes?
Perhaps related to all this is her ongoing injector saga which seems to be the source of the cabin smell - leaking combusion fumes rising from cylinder #4)...
The story began with #4 injector leaking so bolt tightened/sheared, bolt extracted but injector well and truely stuck - the tip had mushroomed so it needed lots of effort to remove (two crowbars apparently- possibly damaging the injector inlet in the process?). Replaced with used injector with new seals on all injectors. Used injector soon failed. It was replaced at another garage with a new injector, but now starting to leak all over again- just a smelly vapour atm;( Back to last garage to sort i guess (if she makes it back). Could be some damage/debris to the injector seating or related to mushroomed injector removal? She's ready to get rid of it after all the recent brakedowns and get a petrol but I'm trying to convince her she should keep it after all this work (inc new timing belt)

Re: Berlingo Additiv Error P1434 and P1435
Well, as it happens my neighbour with same DV6C has also just had injectors replaced, shortly followed by anti-pollution warnings and same codes. Similar mileage (112K).
Just coincidence?
Both cars seem to have eolys left in tank and still regenerating but with very sooty exhaust pipes.. (additive not getting through to burn off soot during regen?)
However neighbours dpf pressure doesn't increase when revving which together with a P1457 code with 'absent particle filter'
Was wondering how computer knows? presumably by no change in dpf pressure? so could be dodgy sensor or blocked sensor pipes? Or maybe the dpf has been holed out/deleted- seems to be popular around here..

If you have soot in the end of the tail pipe it is a sign the dpf is missing or knocked through. It should be clean or only the slightest of soot and not black. The eolys is injected into the fuel tank, if you still have some left and it has not yet been topped up/bag replaced if a bag, then chances are it may be programmed out to not be injected.
