22 deg with fan on auto(c/c).Only trouble is,the more you demist, the more moisture in the system, the sooner you need a regas.Worth it though for safer driving.

Hi
You had your CC go in to French settings by itself then back to English yet?
I had a 406 that was haunted for six months! lol

So - Follow on report after visit to the A/C experts...
I left it with them at 4:00 as discussed, turned up at 16:45 to find "Your cars all done sir!"
Great I thought - With ignition off - Fans powered up ok, and with engine running finally nice cold air!
However, about 3 hours later when I came to go out - The A/C wasnt seeming so cold - and sure enough, when I tried the old igntion off test, no fans powered up....
Checked the pressure switch, shorting the switch brought the fans on!
Having a look around the union where the metal a/c pipe joins the rubber pipe seems wet, I'm thinking a leak?
There's a sticker on the air filter saying that floresent dye is in the a/c so I guess they can tell - But I'm a little annoyed, surely when I ask for an A/C check and re-gas they should check for leaks???
Is this normal - and (more importantly) is it likely to cost me a lot of money??

Did you specify a system check and regas, or just a regas? I reckon you've got cause for some sort of recompense if it failed that quickly! If they're any good, they should be able to replace/remake the pipe for no more than parts cost; you've paid for a service and they haven't done the job properly. Take it back and complain bitterly!

Hi
Are you sure this place is an Aircon specalist?
Sounds like they havent got a clue what there doing!
Anyway, thats far too quick to do a proper Vac out, re - oil & then re - gas a air con system, The vac out alone takes 45 mins!
They havent done a proper job, Tell them to fix it or its trading standard time!
Plus they would get in trouble for re - gassing a leaking air con system!

Good - That was going to be my approach!
I did specify "Check out the system and re-gas it" - although the receipt only shows "Re-gas" - but regardless, I would think it a little cheeky to get a re-gas and not even be told - "By the way - Its leaking!"

Hi
When they re - gassed the system, they would of know its leaking, It would fail the pressure test when it was connected up to the machine they use.
This lot sound like a " Bung some gas in & it will be o.k. " so called specalist.
Sounds like they dont know how to use the equpiment.

Just read a site giving an overview of how a/con works - What I observed is a liquid stain on the rubber pipe where it joins the metal pipe of the a/c. would this seem right or is it just maybe a oil spillage from somewhere? (I have just had a P3 service to after all!)
Anyway - The pressure switch is definately not made, so I guess that HAS to mean leaking system, right?

I think I'll take it back in tomorrow afternoon and sit and watch...
I can see I'm going to have fun with this crowd!
Anyway, thats another useless garage I can add to my "Don't touch with a bargepole" list!

Hi
You said P3 service, Not Peugeot main dealer [V]
The only think you should find on the pipes is water condensation when the systems used, also dont worry if you see a small puddle of water under the car after using the air con, this is normal & nothing to worry about, just the water dripping off the aircon pipes.
It sounds like its leaking to me.
Please tell me you didnt let a Peugeot main dealer near your air con?

See my other posts under "306 Cambelt" - I got a P3 Service and Cambelt change under the 3 years older car program.
I was a little unsure where to take the car for this - one things for sure - I'm glad it wasn't to the local "a/c Experts"...

So whats wrong with Peugeot Main Dealers when it comes to air con - or is it just a general Peugeot dealers are rubbish gripe (I have to admit they've given me lots of grief in the past - but my local seems almost civil...)

Hi
Thank god for that then!
Take it back to where you got the re - gas from, Tell them it isnt working, & ask them why?
You paid them to check & re - gas your air con, It sounds like they have done a bodge job to me.
