Always like to give the full picture as best I can.

And also, there's so much information presented, a chance I miss something of interest that others might spot!
So has telling the ECU you've replaced the DPF made it happy with the pump fault and injector faults cleared?
At present I've done the "additive top up" process only, this is a bit odd really, moving between menus. I'm glad I took a print screen as the Additive ECU page listed the current additive level (0.04 litres)

The top up process is in the Engine ECU menu, and that requests you manually type in the figure (but only two decimal places, so 0.04)

The menu goes away and a worry that nothing has happened creeps in!
So I went round the menu again and the quantity listed had increased to just over a litre and 100% (which suggests it only holds one litre?) so all good.

I went to the "replace DPF" menu, but chickened out at the moment. I'll research into what differential pressure reading I should expect but am thinking of getting one of the ~ £140 new DPF units ordered.

I bought 5 litres of Wynns "off car" DPF cleaner last night (£26 on a 10% off offer on eBay) so might have a go at the cleaning of the old unit(s) )

Need the car functional so the swifter "straight swap" option for a new DPF is a good way forward

Very interesting stuff Matt :)

I've been out playing with Polly's ECUs today, specifically looking at her Denox and DPF systems.. Seer my blog ;)

Ah, excellent - will have a read tonight. Whilst we've similar drivetrains we'll perhaps be able to compare notes if spot anything odd! (What does yours list on 'ere?) :)

All up on my blog now Matt. Plus an additional one dealing with the Adblue system...

Be interesting to see how mine compares with yours...

Gosh, I've had a FedEx tracking thing - which I think is for the DPF, stating it was to be delivered tomorrow!
I've, hopefully deferred it until Thursday, as likely out and about tomorrow + busy Wednesday, but flipping heck that's quick, considering ordering placed 2 PM-ish today!

Brief update/reply on your blog Jim, in short, yep the 308 SW's DPF definitely seems like it's had it!

Oh well, if we're back on track with £106 DPF and £25 additive, then not too painful at all.

C5 - still loosing coolant somewhere,
643 miles,
£97.73 diesel at 152.7 ppl, 64.0 litres exactly. = 14.1 gallons.
45.6 MPG pleased with that.
Currently on the countdown for a service - though starts warnings quite early "1800 miles to a service" was first I spotted. Think is down to 1600 now, so I will get that done in next month or so. Must gets it's noisy alternator swapped too.

Probably the DPF is OK - if the pressure is about 10 mbar at idle and 40 mbar at 3000 rpm stationary it should be OK. You might be getting reduced cycles between regens, but if it is still doing it, it should be happy. TBH the one that is on there is probably better than a cheap aftermarket one....

Think was indicated 4 mBar at idle, about 7 mBar at 2000 (didn't try at 3000) so on that basis suggests no need to change??

I'll try the "new DPF fitted" process if that's the consensus, the cheap new one can sit on the shelf :)

Didn't realise there were quality issues with DPFs,
I can understand it for catalyst (i.e. make something with precious metals in it cheaper = less precious metals, job done, just don't ask about service life!) But the DPF is block of silicone carbide or similar with some stopped holes part the way through it?

They either leak or the pressure drop is too high or too low - have a watch of some of O'Reilly's Autos vids on you tube, he's pretty scathing of them. And forced regens!
