Well, any fears about the other three wheels being buckled or cracked have evaporated!

Unfortunately, so have the wheels themselves!

Oh matt, I've had this with stuff on ebay , is it just sellers forgetting or being lazy ? Have a look on Gumtree. I like the Ive just got rid of them , cant find them , take your pick sir lol, come on when stuff sells on ebay you have it all in your account what you've sold , dont it come down from being posted up aswell ?anyway things happen for a reason , they were problematic wheels i reckon , might of been square instead of round. Your find some there's always loads come up all the time , pity you didn't live down near kent there used to be an alloy wheel place in the medway towns you used to be able to by a set for about 100 pound not so long ago , it was an alloy metal recycling place but they used to sell car wheels. I got a set of dog legs for an xr3i i was bring back to life 20 yr ago from the place for 80 pounds needed 2 cleaning up but looked real good after , i still have a set of cosworth alloys with there boots on in a shed of mine they still look good too. Might sell them somewhere sometime....

The £5 new gearknob arrived, so pushed that into place too. Thankfully the old one pulled off without too much of a fight!
Shiny knob
Shiny knob
It is much much lighter than the original (which seems to have a cast white metal "core" under the leather Vs plastic only on the new one).

I think the weight does help a little with the gearshift "feel" so a bit of a downgrade unfortunately on that basis.

Also the two rear vents (in the back of the front seat arm rest) were pretty filthy. Toothbrush head deployed but just too well stuck to brush off.

Ultimately, a gentle levering removed vents complete and the two of them have had a swim in the ultrasonic cleaner.

Used them a few years ago when they had a good price, then BlackCircles seemed unbeatable for a bit, then thought best double check other sources - Asda had a £10 off buying two or more on certain brands. I normally default to Uniroyal but am trying these which also claim A-rating for wet grip, fingers crossed they are good!

Ha ha! Not these, just presentable will do! I did a little "two tone" effect on the trailer wheels (just playing about with a bit of cheap black paint!)

That took some research! Now, the waiting game!

Speaking of which, some more wheels due to arrive tomorrow, but the gearbox oil (due Saturday) not yet materialised. Chased the seller up) but no reply yet
