(The phone suggested 0000 or 1234, will have a play later)

Will have to clear out the half a dozen previous owners phones from it too!
Doing mine last october i pinned 0000 , all works well since.

Very impressive, when changing my sump & strainer last month
There's about 500ml left in the sump because of this inward design i belive who developed this sump had the blue print back to front, now making a point of using my small battery powered vacumme pump to suck out the rest at every oil change now. Well done for modding yours

Yes, I measured it too, just daft, isn't it!

The only thing that makes any sense to me is if the sump plug is recessed to reduce the risk of it being sheared off if the car was "grounded out" but if you are doing that much then the thin sheet steel of the sump itself isn't exactly armoured!

This is a bit too much of a "it either works or it doesn't" approach for me!

I bought a second hand sump, modified it, then did a swap at next oil change. At least my method didn't have potential to leave me stranded!

I actually modified 3 sumps by this method (as had a 1.6 HDi C4 at the time too)

The third sump I used a normal socket rather than impact and the sharper edge instead punched rather cleanly through the sump instead!

As that was a spare / was going to sell it on eBay, that was the end of that!

Strangely the undertrays when searching for 7013EC look much shorter than the Peugeot diagram Marc kindly supplied

But the price is much more palatable!!

I was trying that yesterday, handbook instructions useless but YouTube claims that any four digit number will work. This is for the Mazda of course. Off to daughter's today so will be trying that, also the new dashcam and a satnav I have been meaning to test for five months.

You can get all the oil out this one ! Where did you get it from and do the holes line up on say 308cc or c3 picasso both 1.6hdi
Made it myself, normal sump pressed with a wooden "former" below and a fairly blunt (black, impact type) socket on the inside. Put under a hydraulic press and reshaped as shown!

I've been looking at (new) sumps again - as the 308 has the standard "inny" (like belly button) drain point at moment.

Don't have a press of my own, chatted up my friendly usual MOT garage to let me have a quick go using theirs
That's a mod I shall possibly do on mine at some stage... Also considering a suction device for routine changes if it can suck down far enough...

Am I right you have a press Jim?

I don't think I threw away my wooden "former" - will have to dig it out :)

I do indeed Matt :) One of the most useful tools ever...

Why PSA did an inverted drain plug is just beyond all understanding... What were they thinking?
