Is there a default code for Peugeot 308 stereo's Bluetooth connection?
(The phone suggested 0000 or 1234, will have a play later)
Will have to clear out the half a dozen previous owners phones from it too!

I'd plump for 0000 which worked on the 107 I had!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Interesting! Seemed like both phone and car were asking for a code, so perhaps we went wrong way about it? The handbook says something unhelpful like "enter a four digit code" but makes no mention of defaults etc.
Will have a play when we are back home again

308's gearknob is quite worn, so less than £5 should sort this.
Has car mats in the back but none in front door well, have gone for grey to brighten it up a touch. Slightly posher than the "cheapest possible" choices (about £18 is as cheap as they go) so hoping are good.
Engine bay undertray missing so researching this at present.

308 SW:
Had a quick look at front left wheel - as it clearly has a puncture (down to about 1 bar on the gauge) no obvious nails or damage to the tyre. The tyre itself is about two thirds worn and a presumably cheap "Winrun"
Lacquer is still present or was, but sat over a variable thickness of white aluminium oxide for a large area of the diamond cut faces.
The anthracite coloured paint is also lifting in many areas, strangely lots on the back too. This chipper off and some white paint brushed on for the moment. (Wow that's blurred!)
Currently exploring a set of wheels, down a size to 16" most likely, then can take the others off and sand down and repaint them at my leisure.
These: Or Seem good options.
Wheel bolts were very tight and bone dry. Thin smear of copper grease and done to 95 Nm. No locking nonsense thankfully!
(Online research now suggests this maybe should be 100 Nm)

Put a few queries on the parts thread (viewtopic.php?p=785714#p785714 ), copied here to add extra detail without waffling too much in that thread
--------
Hi, few queries on the 308 SW 1.6 HDi, six speed manual.
VIN
VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
Can you please confirm part number for the following:
- Engine bay undertray (aftermarket seems to be two types a long one and a short one!)
Missing as seems to be the norm. Aftermarket ones surprisingly cheap (£45 or so, delivered) think worth adding. Likely do my own fixings, M6 bolts and penny washers.
- oil filter (Autodoc putting the wind up me with two different types looking at the pictures!)
Some look as I recognise from the 206's DV6 (16v) but wanted to be sure the later 8v is the same.
- coolant: should I be looking for an OAT type (or one without porridge?)
Bit murky looking, will give it a flush and refresh.
- alternator: part number and / or confirm if this is clutch pulley type?
Will dig into this more, I think it's a standard pulley on there now, has a "dancing tensioner" which I think is symptom of a solid pulley.
- gearbox oil type / part number? (I'm assuming 75W80 API GL4 but thought best to check) actually quantity too would also be helpful.
Always think this is worth changing. Not planning on output seal change at present (will check no signs if leakage before swapping the oil)

You can get all the oil out this one ! Where did you get it from and do the holes line up on say 308cc or c3 picasso both 1.6hdiMattBLancs wrote: ↑01 Apr 2023, 12:47 206's turn for a bit of TLC
Oil change, C2 spec 5w30 fully synthetic from GSF, Bosch oil filter "from stock"
Short change interval since last one slightly as thought would do it good and mostly as dropped the oil out last time on a Sunday afternoon and then discovered none of the four bottles of oil I've gathered were the correct C2 spec. So it's had a little go with some Mannol 5w30 fully synthetic cheap stuff (20 litre drum, worked out about £6 per oil change!) But concerned as not "low SAPS"
Can you spot what is unusual about this particular DV6 sump?
Husky.

Made it myself, normal sump pressed with a wooden "former" below and a fairly blunt (black, impact type) socket on the inside. Put under a hydraulic press and reshaped as shown!Huskyxantia wrote: ↑06 Jan 2024, 09:12You can get all the oil out this one ! I've been looking at (new) sumps again - as the 308 has the standard "inny" (like belly button) drain point at moment.
Don't have a press of my own, chatted up my friendly usual MOT garage to let me have a quick go using theirs
