I used to seek out fully synthetic as a treat/ beyond the minimum for my cars. Now it's the norm. Next it's delving into the specs as just looking for 10W40 or 5W30 etc is no longer specific enough.
As far as I know if I look for ACEA C2 is the magic gibberish that means I've picked up the right stuff!
Was aware of "Low SAPS" being necessitated for DPF equipped cars (which all mine on the road are) Surprisingly there's no mention of low SAPS, mid SAPS or otherwise on these bottles - perhaps I should be worried!?
Some interesting thoughts on this. Basically, my understanding is lower viscosities are driven by this fuel saving aspiration. Also folks who recon this thinner oil is to the detriment of engine life. As everything in my "fleet" is well north of 100,000 miles, I'm not worried about reducing the "residual" life of themBe interesting to learn how much fuel it saves![]()
