Wow you've been busy - I love a bit of plumbing, I find it very satisfying as unlike electrical work you can actually see physically any issues. Likewise I always just replace the mechanism inside a toilet as it's just not worth if for what everything costs. I often replace the float and valve with a faster and quieter one too, while I am in there. I can't stand noisy, or slow, filling mechanisms!

You certainly have a lot of garden waste, and your way of dealing with it is better than mine. We put it all in a pile, then slowly week by week chop it up and it slowly filters thought our two brown bins until it's gone... then we start the whole thing again! - its a complete pain!

Recommend a garden shredder to cut the volume down, mine was second hand black and decker eBay and something silly like 9 quid!

Collection only is the key to a bargain, bulky things, heavy and no one can be bothered to post it! So search "nearest first " then grab a bargain. Had a good few years use for my tiny investment.

At one stage I was filling the council bin with shreddings! Get loads in (i.e. you can barely move it!) But too time consuming really.

The shredding mulch (if more "woody" than "leafy") is a good mulch helps slows the weeds down

That's a good idea - we always joke that we need a garden waste shredder thingy!

It would certainly be better than sawing up the branches by hand to get them into the brown bin... :?

I'll see if there are any on Ebay :-D

Tip run done, bit of gardening was next. This lot to be persuaded (i.e. laid in the trailer on top of the pile, then stood on and chopped with the loppers some more) onto the big trailer as pictured last weekend.

Hang on.... are you just posting the same images of a rubble laden boot?

I'm starting to feel sorry for your C5; it appears you treat it like a Tunisian treats his donkey...

I may have to report you to the RSPCC (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Citroens, not that other one) 8-[

The Peugeot 504 estate cars were vehicles that could go anywhere (with pretty much any loads). They managed to make it to places where even a Land Rover failed to get to.

Train of thought:

Need bread for sandwiches tomorrow and a few other bits and bobs...

Aldi is only 1/2 a mile each way stroll...
No point taking the car...

Took rucksack and a light coolbag just in case..

Bathroom scales were to hand so I can confirm 12.9 kilo rucksack plus 7.1 kilo coolbag soon feel plenty heavy enough for that half mile walk back! :) knackered!
