I'm intrigued by AdBlue consumption Matt. Mine seems to use hardly any and in my ownership I've yet to need to top up the AdBlue tank...
Yes me too!

Quote me from a while back:
MattBLancs wrote: 24 Aug 2024, 11:31 Adblue, tank holds 17 litres [ = 3.74 UK gallons ] and the book suggests that's only 12,000 miles worth!
That equates to Adblue consumption of 3,204.7 miles per (adblue) gallon.

I've topped up again today, 2.5 litres, full now and was last top up too.
140098 miles now, approx 134500 miles last time = 5,598 miles
5,598 / (2.5 / 4.54) = 10,165 miles per (adblue) gallon.

Or, in short, not enough to get a meaningful comparison with the book figures! :)
This week, Diagbox told me I still had 4500Km to go before topping up was needed. I've done around 10,000 miles so far on what was in the tank when i bought the car...

Do you wait for the warning and then top-up or as and when it seems like a good plan?
So far, chucking it in whenever I get chance. I was very keen to get some of the Wynns anti-crystalisation additive in there, hence brimming the tank (plus enough additive to treat the full 17 litre tank capacity) as soon as I got the car.

Servicing this weekend seemed a good opportunity to see where it was up too. Though I said it didn't seem long between fills and I was quite surprised it took 2.5 litres, I'm also surprised it's as much as 5,500 miles covered too!
Should we await the warning and only top-up then? Also, do you use any anti-crystallisation additive?
Yes, Wynn's Crystal Clear and Protect dosed in with the adblue every time is the plan for me.

I intend to take the injector out the exhaust for a quick look at some point (a summer job, definitely!) but nothing to suspect impended doom at present!

I've read this thread about tank / pump "failure" (actually proven to be pressure sensor failure) with keen interest:

I'm also considering buying the various parts used as the fix and keeping them ready in case I suffer the same fate.

Thanks Matt, that's very valuable information :D Be good to see how you get on with your urea injector inspection...

I added a bottle of Wynn's Crystal Clear as soon as I became aware of it via Marc and have a new bottle ready to go when I ned to top up.

I've been reading that thread with keen interest too... I'm hoping I'll never need it but if I do then hopefully that'll economically fix it :)

For the potential blue 308 CD upgrade idea,

I'll double check on the parts thread at some point but from eBay digging:

Dashboard panel (which has connection covering both volume knob, heater controls and additionally the CD's eject button) I think part number is 96777664ZD

CD player sits behind this and I think part number is 9805593680

Not to be confused with (non-CD) head unit:

Haha, no, very manual job done first, then I could sit in there and get at the bulb holder!

You'll have to do without a photo of the front footwell lighting as it's a little too akin to "floodlit car mats that need a good hoover" for public viewing as yet! :-D

The other 308 also, briefly has a tidy boot as it foo was emptied - so I could cut a piece of chunky doormat material roughly to size.

As for CD, took me a while as there is no CD specified in parts for your vehicle, however I can confirm the Fascia part is correct and also the harness will be needed: So yes you need a specific harness to connect this to the main unit and of course it will need telecoding in the BSI. They deemed these not necessary, with Audio Streaming via Bluetooth and the ability to play media via USB. Please also note that connecting a CD will not allow copying of media to the internal 'Jukebox' storage according to info I have.

CD Harness for SMEG units, part: 6571QY, £78.13

The CD is not coming up against your vehicle, and the only one I can see that is compatible with the electronic architecture and build date is part: 1629118180, £328.02
