Business as usual, here
Actually a bit more tidying up revealed another couple of buckets, so those filled too
and off we went after something to eat. Mad busy at the tip and warm job in the sunshine, so I think I'd earned a nice day celebrating cream, no?

Simple pleasures Matt, I got another hundred slabs home in my mate's truck last night so not so bad.ive another two weekends to get the rest. I got home at 16:30 and had it unloaded for 18:30 and a cup of tea and bit of pink Floyd for an hour. Nice relaxing evening.

Then off to Horwich to meet up with CitroJim, Mickthemaverick and RichardW for a very enjoyable natter and a very scrummy (Toad in the 'Ole) lunch.

This afternoon put a bit more plasterboard up on the bathroom wall and a bit of head scratching ready for tomorrow's DIY day!
Blue 308 filled up recently:
499 miles,
£54.01, 134.7 PPL, 40.1 litres.
8.83 gallons.
56.5 MPG

Absolutely awesome to meet you all Matt
I must agree, the Toad was delicious - and the banter was top quality

Your busy with the house Matt. Are you near the finish line or just getting started.

Loads to do!darbuck wrote: 28 Sep 2024, 16:01 Your busy with the house Matt. Are you near the finish line or just getting started.
Ceilings to go back, walls to build, board, plaster, paint.
Bathroom and downstairs loo to go in and external drainage as we're moving the soil stack.
Thankfully as it's the house next door, we're not living in the muck, so can just crack on whenever we've time and enthusiasm. Still quite enjoying it, despite the muck and dust! Just a glutton for punishment!!

Eventually a single storey extension across the back to enlarge the little kitchen and join the two halves together

You love the suffering the same as myself.
I just bought herself a 140 bhp Peugeot 508. It has fuel pressure regulator fault, sounds familiar. It pulls really well apart from when the regulator gives up working briefly. I want to run some live data just to make sure and replace it. It resets every time you restart the car until you go above 2500rpm. A new car and a new challenge. According to herself she threw out black smoke on acceleration so another pointer.
I used to be a plasterer nearly 20 years ago now. You will be immensely proud of yourself when you finish the house. Fair play to you.i was just thinking the love of suffering it must have something to do with plaster dust. We both inhaled to much.

Following the busy start to my work week, I had a nice restful 280 mile round trip in this big fella (accompanied by my little fellow for scale!) for Saturday+ Sunday.
60 mph limited,
suspension err, definitely not to Citroen ride quality !
Engine very lacking in any top end power,
Radio not bad,
Wind noise high,
Rattles,
Seat gave me a "numb bum" after a bit, so a few leg stretch breaks on route each way.
Rather different economy recorded: 25.4 mpg according to its onboard logging. 60 mph limited,

You can't tell us all about your mission to become a truck driver without telling us what the load was?

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

We were helping my brother in law move house, he's selling up and moving up to Lancashire (from Lincolnshire), so the van (and his Kia Ceed) were both packed full with all his stuff. So two days of loading and unloading, with a little sit down (driving) as a change inbetween

Refilled, the next time the car was needed, the indicated 64 mpg logged was not too far from the tankful-to-tankful calculated figure: 62 mpg. Well pleased with that!MattBLancs wrote: 05 Oct 2024, 21:26Everything works hard in my ownership! Grey 308 earning its keep again today: Then wrapped like this: Off to the tip, then again to Builder's merchant again, 2 fence panels to replace a couple that are dropping to bits, then whilst I was there, spotted 2 standard plasterboard sheets and one insulated plasterboard sheet, all slight damage so all reduced in price - all slung in the big trailer and stashed away ready for use next door
