My Picasso comes with one of those as standard... Rather neat as you can fold it away when not needed :)
Yes, think my dad's former C4 Grand Picasso had one (though didn't fold away from memory) - that's where I ruthlessly stole the idea from! :)

Unfortunately the hot glue gun idea was an absolute failure, stuck in before lunch it had dropped off before I came back outside again less than an hour later! Stuck beautifully to the mirror base, it's the screen it let go of. Thought the array of black dots would be good to adhere to = nope!

Whilst Autumn is rear-facing in her car seat, Robyn has a large convex mirror attached to the headrest to keep an eye on her...
Yes we had one of those for rear facing. It's gone on the rear of the front passenger headrest, so our youngest can see what's going on behind us now he's switched to forward facing.

Went for a little ride in th Blue 308, but I'll not post it here...

Yes, they grow so quickly it only seemed to be in rear facing for the blink of an eye. The mirror was great so I was determined to find another home for it :)

And some new o-rings, I'm seeking to swap all accessible fuel pipe clip seals in the hope of getting the C5 back on running order again.

What a fiddly faff of a job swapping out the o-rings is!

Not much car progress at the weekend. C5 was flat battery so has been on charge.

I bought a (grab handle substitute) sunglasses holder with the intention of putting it in the blue 308, but found that uses a completely different mounting arrangement - screw less) to hold the handle in place.
Big square holes!

You can just tell (in the glasses holder picture) that I'd help with that job :)

Next we christened the new blue car with it's first tip run:
Not a full load, but we're were off out anyway
Not a full load, but we're were off out anyway
Which it completed no problem. Tyre pressure warning on again, don't think the front tyres will be around much longer as pumping one of them up weekly will soon get boring! Will have to be changed as a pair given they are 60 profile and need to be 55 really. As they effectively cost about £8 each (bare rim was £42, paid £50 each for the ones with tyres) any miles of use they can give me is all good.

Well christened Matt and it looks like the car (and load) has the full approval of the junior contingent :D

(Smart go kart)
Ah, we're already equipped on the go-kart front:

This gets plenty of use.

It's a bit of a stupid design: one wheel drive! Wheel spins and stuck very frequently. The other rear wheel effectively is free running on bearings on the driven axle within its centre.

A welding job at some point to make it two wheel drive!

That's just so crying out for an engine Matt... An engine. Not an electric motor ;)

I know what you mean about one-wheel drive... The karts I used to race had a solid rear axle with the drive sprocket on one side and the brake disc on the other. Nothing so luxurious as a diff. or even a clutch. Direct drive :D If you stalled it was game over...

Too much throttle or brake before the slicks were warm could result in a lovely little pirouette  Over-cooking the braking into a tight corner could do the same too... All added to the fun!

Oh yes, nice little single cylinder put-putting him along would do nicely. But a bit of (human) energy burning off is a good benefit of leaving it unpowered for the moment though!

Yes the potential "drifting" of a fixed set of rear wheels sounds a minor downside / upside! :-D

A photo from 2008/9, built by my late Father in Law.
S4200137.JPG
It uses a gearbox (3 forward, 1 reverse) from a flash sit on mower, belt driven from a 3 1/2 hp Briggs engine and feeds the back axle by chain. The disk brake is integral on the g/box output shaft.
The Jeep has long gone with the mechanical bits put into a rear engined go kart which I still have in the barn.
Pete
Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone
