Ah yes, good point! Or perhaps "bouncing everywhere!" would be better - was like a small six inch thick "fog" of bouncing raindrops on the kitchen roof - couldn't capture it well on the camera

I like the expression 'bouncing down' :) I got well soaked twice yesterday and now have a conservatory full of wet parkrun kit... I feel your pain Matt...

Some good terms and phrases here:

I guess raining upside down captures it

As I was raised in Manchester I've only ever known it as 'bouncing down' because if it didn't bounce down it wouldn't bounce up, also, 'save it for a sunny day' cos it was always raining!! And only 'up north' can you ring your friend and say 'I'm popping in for a brew'. Down south ' Get Fkked'

I'm glad you've said that, was wondering if I'd made it up! There's a few things that I know are lodged in my head incorrectly - spanners made of chrome molly-bendy-um for example :-D (moll-lib-den-om I've been told, repeatedly, but it comes out "Molly.." every time!)

In other news:
IMG-20230709-WA0000.jpeg
Magnetic trailer lights, plugged into newly wired up Coupe trailer socket. Success!

The towbar is electrically complete. So up in the air when next get chance (likely next weekend but resolutely overoptimistic about doing something in the evenings after work when the boys are asleep, but rarely happens) gets the special nuts in place, six bolts to the body, four nuts and bolts to the three pieces of towbar substructure and jobs a good 'un!

Gave a work colleague a lift today in the X7 (2.2 HDi) he was quiet for a bit then said
hmmm, fair got some beans this, hasn't it!?
Not a turn of phrase I've come across ( "give it the beans" yes, but weirdly it having beans which would then be available to give, a new one on me!) But definitely made me smile, yes it does go well! :-D

X7 slotted into usual weekend role
Squat
Squat
As is full! (Old plaster by the bucket load)
As is full! (Old plaster by the bucket load)
5 further buckets full sat on the right hand (60/40) "half" of the back seats.
Economy calcs when I remember where the receipt is.

Couple of running issues to look into:
Odd "lumpiness" around 2000 rpm, usual in 6th on the motorway. Not every time and I have not found a pattern to it as yet.
Sometimes cruise control refuses to engage (which I have read on here is sign of things not right) but not every time it is lumpy nor visa Versa.
Today, short 1 mile slog to tip and then back again, on the return leg it has a little bit of a lumpy stumbling idle. Perhaps doesn't like Sainsbury's (3 miles away but was there anyway now it's swallowed our local Argos) diesel (Vs normal Morrisons stuff as is local)

Need to get the Diagbox machine plugged in when I get chance.

Intended to finish towbar installation off for the 406 Coupe but only got the jack out before "rain stopped play". Keep one eye on it (and back to knocking off plaster inside again)

Restagraf has landed
Restagraf has landed
Quite off-putting threading 90% of the thing through the rectangular hole and trying to manipulate it into place! Fear of it dropping down into the "chassis rail" very much on my mind!

Towbar now finished, hurray!

After twenty years the moulded boot side carpets are fatiguing in places, so a bit of hot glue gun reinforcement to see if that helps
It ain't pretty!
