Need to find the other 308 SW (the new blue one) 's OBD port

Ahhh! I was in the right spot (removed the lower rubber cover) but there is a second stage and it's next to the 12v socket.

Hmmm,

"Key not present, long press on start button to switch off engine"

When I got to work today (in the blue 308) then won't lock the doors

Wow! That OBD socket is as hidden as it is on the C4.

It's bonkers that you have to watch a YouTube video to find it. I giggled when the narrator said it was just a short one. To my mind that video was about 90% longer than it needed to be...

This thread suggests battery disconnection / reconnection process be followed:

Will have to have a go at that later.

Agree on both points! Socket is much more buried than sensible and much longer video than needed! :-D

This (recent hire car) Vauxhall Crossland is perhaps the other extreme in terms of OBD port availability!

I can't honestly remember the last time I wore shoes and currently don't even own a pair...

I only ever wear running and cycling shoes these days... The big advantage of them is they never need polishing ;)

These are really comfy, cheap things from Matalan. I've had to glue the sole back on once but otherwise they are going well.

Part of the informal "work uniform" of office life for me.

Rather be in overalls and Toe 'Tectors (and under a car) obviously! :-D

Thankfully, the only real difference is the thickness and capacity of the battery, so no harm should have occurred :)

Start button ordered
eBay
eBay
£16.39 with a voucher. Decided to try a black one in the hope of avoiding any peeling chrome issues. (Genuine, second hand. Rear connection visually same as the correct chrome faced item, so hoping a direct swap)

By the way, here's the current one:
ST {triangle} RT STOP!!
ST {triangle} RT STOP!!
Which feels horrible under your fingertip too!

Just for information:
CR2025 = 20mm outside diameter, 2.5mm thick,
CR2032 = 20mm OD, 3.2mm thick!

So I think there's a good chance that poor connection (due to thin battery flopping about in the key's battery holder) was behind yesterday's issues!

Yes, if they'd stacked a couple of CR2016 in place of the single CR2032 then we'd be in trouble!
