Driveshafts:

Prices

No sizing info. They appear to be specific to this car and gearbox combo.

Start button - £44.26:

Edit: button also used on 2008 and 208 which might widen the search for a 2nd hand one.

Start button common to 208, 2008 was indeed a useful bit of info.

Mine is the posh "chrome" finish which has peeled off from the centre of the A (of stArt) - as has most of the 2nd hand chrome examples on eBay!

Interestingly there is aftermarket stick on button covers - basically plastic disk to stick over the current button. Amusingly I found some have copied the "bit missing A" too!!

20 l of adblue picked up from my local motor factors. £21.62. includes a spout but have to say looks pretty unwieldy to dispense with out chucking it everywhere!

So the driveshaft/CV joint replacement on the 308 is getting interesting...

Decided I was going to replace that crap CV boot so I'm stripping down to get access. Interestingly the current hub nut is 32mm rather than 35 mm. That nut was going to go in the bin, however the driveshaft thread is also smaller than the standard 35 mm nut's thread.

There is no cross drilled hole for the normal r-clip to go through, plus the end of the drive shaft stud isn't longer than the hub spigot either

Glad I didn't just buy 10 L then!
That was fairly empty

Tank holds 17 litres says handbook.
Also added in some of the Wynn's Crystal Clean stuff
(Bought the 500ml bottle but that says treats "45-75 litres of adblue". Added 175ml to my tank which is nearer the higher end of the concentration range)

Later cars seem to have gone over to a self locking nut rather than an R clip, can't comment on the size however!

Interesting!

I'm still of a view the current arrangements are definitely in "bodge" rather than "new technology" realm really!

One side has no hole for a r-clip, the other does have a hole, with a split pin fed through. No washer under the nut (on one side, not had the other apart yet) mangled cross threaded (when loosened I'd to wind it off almost all the way, normally when loosed after the initial high torque they don't need much beyond finger pressure to spin them off (unless rusty of course) not here very stiff all the way!! so fairly confidently cross threaded when installed

Oh and the nut looks to be the stake down type, but there is no groove in this driveshaft end in which to stake it!

SKF, decent reputable brand. Cheapest Autodoc option is about £78 each "Pascal" brand, not one I've heard of

I've yet to top mine up with Adblue but looking around the filler, previous top-ups have been a bit messy! Lots of crystals in evidence...

Not sure where your filler is Jim, but the 308 SW it's low down in the boot, next to spare wheel - boot floor and polystyrene thing.

I bought a jug with a long spout -
https://www.toolstation.com/laser-plast ... jug/p20428
And it still was tricky not to make a mess. If I'd used the spout on the twenty litre container direct to the adblue tank I'm pretty certain it'd be everywhere now!
