I've used the Dunlop branded vee belts and don't rate them - or more accurately, I don't think they're any better than other cheap ones.

I have always used SKF bearings and never had a problem with them. :)

Yes, SKF always seems well regarded.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355700676011
£12.92 inc free postage. A good option if it doesn't last.

Interestingly using the part number quoted in the eBay item:
VKM32104
Autodoc list it (but they don't think it fits the C5) for £7.08 (plus £8.45 P&P unless you wait till you've £140 worth of stuff needed :-D )

Quote from me in AUGUST last year viewtopic.php?p=766232#p766232 = gosh time flies and I've put up with that noise a long time!

C5
- swap alternator, suspected as current source (as well as a source of current. But not to be confused with a currant sauce) of a droning noise. Also check tensioner's pulley and hopefully take advantage of claimed 3 year warranty if needed.
D'oh! Forgot about this potential warranty claim route!
Nevermind was £7-something.

Need to be careful with SKF bearings as there is a Chinese company selling snidey ones with an apparently genuine logo.
Except they tried too hard with that and the logo is visually perfect where SKF's own are not so well engraved.

Is that best avoided by ordering direct on SKF's website Steve? :?:

I expect it would be more likely to yield a genuine product.
Probably a higher price but cheaper than having a breakdown later and having to do it all over again.

I think I would trust Eriks if there is one locally. I have bought bearings for work from them and they have been perfect.
Couldn't say if they would have SKF bearings in the correct dimensions though.

Will have to look them out, nearest to me is:

Preston Service Centre
Preston Distribution and Engineering
Visiting address
No 3, Caxton Road
Fulwood
Preston, Lancashire,
PR2 9ZZ

So not far away. From memory there is also "Swan bearings" somewhere near...

... Actually, seems Swan Bearings (formerly of Swan Street Preston according to: https://preston-lancashire.cylex-uk.co. ... 96297.html ) became Eriks in 2017 according to: https://eriks.co.uk/en/about-eriks/Pres ... elocation/ ) and then presumably moved at some point to the address above
