I was trying to find a picture or part number for a thin slice of rubber that fits on the bottom of the front coil spring where it sits against the dampers spring cup. However it doesn't seem to exist on the diagram on Parts Asia??

One of mine was reusable and the other must have been rubbish as strangely I appear to have thrown it away. Here is my substitute arrangement from the Hozelok automotive accessories range :rofl2:

Translating to air filters

406 ones last a bit better than Xantia bump-stops. Most Xantia ones have now all but entirely disappeared into dust...

Interesting I've not seen too many knackered ones must have been lucky plus not that much Citroen exposure in the past I suppose, mostly Peugeot.

The 607 ones that have come with my struts / upper strut tops look in good nic, but also a fair chunk longer than the 406 ones so I decided to leave those as an experiment for another day.

That reminds me here's a picture of the repainted (but you could guess that!) 607 upper strut top spring cup vs the 406 item which started this saga:
One is brown, the other is orange

Oh yes, I forgot about this picture, answers on a postcard: what is really annoying about this nearly installed strut?

You can't see it, but the flange for the anti roll bar drop link is in roughly the correct position at this point (off the top of the view)

Two steps forward but at least one back! (Sorted later)

Ahh, maybe the locating pip on the strut body is not in line with the slot in the hub carrier? Done it on Xantias a few times...

308 treated to an oil change this weekend. Short trip last night, so with the oil warm I set to to get it draining overnight in the last of the daylight.

Obviously the warmth thins it's viscosity but even so it surprised me by coming out that quickly as to spray in two directions merely redirected by the catch can into which it was supposed to drain! Worse still, the two black streams had such velocity as to go beyond what I'd thought was an over generous piece of cardboard!!

Or, in short I did an oil change and despite best efforts made a mess as usual. No change there!

I'm considering measuring what came out as really struck me as quite a lot! 3.75 litres capacity I think, perhaps as I was paying it more attention given the excitement/mess, but a steady flow continued for a good while before slowly to a drip-drip.

Wonder if diluted with diesel from regen related exhaust stroke fuel injection shenanigans!?

New filter (Purflux from Autodoc) old one surprisingly legible (as oil filthy black) was a Wix branded item.
