Re: Ends...
Those are good photos Mick That must be a very high quality dashcam...
It's a lovely spot around there and I forgot to say what a gorgeous spot our pub is in... That hill up to it is cycling heaven!
I was intrigued by the long, ornate brick wall in Water End, all down one side of the road and almost the length, give or take, of the village...
I'm wondering if there's a story behind it?

Re: Ends...
Maybe a little too much and not anything specific on the wall which has the good old Hertfordshire flint in the "panels" topped and marked out with brick no doubt from the local clay. Maybe a bit geology heavy and "swallow" holes galore very appropriately around Water End

Re: Ends...
Our trip out to Leighton Buzzard today allowed me to get copies of yesterdays Ends plus one I missed yesterday. This time with Bob's grandaughter in the car she was able to get better pics than yesterday so here is the full set including the new one, Warners End:

Today's End...
On a very scruffy set of signboards
There's a very large wind farm at Petsoe End that can be seen for miles around...

Well I hope that you cleaned them. Can't leave them looking like that.CitroJim wrote: 21 Mar 2023, 16:23 Today's End...

Re: Ends...
I only had a bit of tissue with me Steve so not a lot I could do on this visit I do know there are people who do go round cleaning roadsigns in various parts of the country... Sadly not here... I know of one sign that's gone a pale shade of green all over due to moss growth... It's almost unreadable now but very pretty...
Maybe I should start up a local sign cleaning party

And here's the very green and mossy sign I referred to above...
Grabbed from my bike video camera... It's on a busy junction and to try and take a proper picture I'd be risking my life!

Re: Ends...
Think we might have to ask Susie Dent if there's any meaning for 'end' other than the obvious.

Bottom?
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Any excuse to involve Susie Dent is a good one.
