Unfinished business
Wonder what Guglielmo Giovanni Maria did in Connemara?
--------------------------------------------
It is my intention to mark each day of February 2023 with a visit to the FCF Archives. There is a lot of good stuff in there destined to become yesterday's chip wrappers so I think a February ferret is worth a go...
Day 24 of the FCF Archives February Ferret 2023 has dawned. only 4 more days to go and The Ferret will enter hibernation when March breezes in. Join in and enjoy while you can.

Today's random hand for February 24th 2023 has landed here
We have landed on a naturally-expiring thread. Like a mayfly, the new reg spotting threads in normal circumstances live only for a brief moment in the sun before naturally expiring. In the case of the new reg it is March and September, with the I-spy book being closed at the end of those months.

The exciting new "23 Reg" will be upon us in 4 days time, and a new I-spy book will be opened for the new reg month.

With the honour of being selected in the FCF Archives February Ferret 2023 for one day and one day only, this very day Friday 24th March 2023, The "I-Spy a 71 Reg" will re-open.

There will be plenty about, and plenty opportunity for original photos, the more interesting the vehicle, bike, car, tractor, excavator, bus, HGV, Van etc etc the better. Loads of opportunities....I will set the ball rolling shortly, but do pick it up and join in...its just a bit of fun (hopefully!).

Here's the thread link for contributions...

Anyone know about Jack Phillips :?: Its revealed here in amongst the story linking back to the Ferret's day 19 location.... http://clifdenheritage.org/the-marconi-story/ . Do a "find on the page" for "Jack" if reading the whole story is too daunting and doesn't hold enough interest.

Significant Mileage Photo's
NewcastleFalcon wrote: 19 Feb 2018, 09:22 km's too of course :-D

Are the simplest threads the best? Hopefully this one is and is easy to join in with. Here it is in a nutshell when your car clicks over to a significant mileage...
Take a photo of your milometer/kilometre-o-meter
Post it up here
Course a little bit of embellishment with time/place etc is always good for comment and chat.

First-time photo posters especially welcome...this link shows how to add a photo from your computer to a post

Here is my effort. You will notice from the milometer and the tripometer that I have gone completely off-topic in this first post. I will have a think but the milage shown there is totally insignificant at first viewing! I am sure you can do better. :-D

Regards Neil

PS 191191 will hopefully be the next "pleasing" milage and then 191919. Some trip meter engineering to show 191.9 at that moment would of course be the icing on the cake and in a layby on the A19 would be just perfect!!!
Link For new contributions today either of past significant mile-o-meter photos, or on this special day your literal mile-o-meter photos on this day here

Thanks for the comments Mick/Jim you are great joiners-in and participators, and thanks for being active on the February Ferret and its selected threads.

Still one day to go, and there is a football poser I put op on the "ends" thread which I think only you will have a chance of getting Mick :-D viewtopic.php?p=746760#p746760

At the conclusion of the February Ferret, which I have personally enjoyed doing, I will probably have a little break from what I would call active FCF activity, but still retain an interest, make the odd post, click the odd like button, and cry for the odd bit of help if needed with my motors! I think its what they used to call Fartlek in athletics training. Look it up :-D

Yep ;) It always raised a giggle or two when we'd do a fartlek session as part of a club training run :-D

Day 28 of the FCF Archives February Ferret 2023 has dawned. "It is finished".

The final random selection goes back to my early days as a forum novice, joining really a bunch of people with a fantastic bank of knowledge freely given to help you in your inevitable French car fixing. For this one, the contributions came in, but in the end the "solution" was my own creative thinking, not that I would expect others to follow the same route, but it got the job done, including putting the scoreboard right on this particular thread
Crankshaft Pulley Bolt 1 Newcastle Falcon 0
Can we add to the thread today :?: My answer is as always "Of course we can :!: "

This is how the FCF Archives February Ferret 2023 started

As is my usual modus operandi, from the 245 threads I have personally started on the FCF since 2009, I have used random.org to make a selection of 28 threads one for each day to revisit, and maybe bring forward the odd snippet. Contributions welcomed, and if appropriate I will add my own contribution to the selected thread.
This was the master list of random selections
The random selection from the pool of 245 threads started by yours truly since 2009
The random selection from the pool of 245 threads started by yours truly since 2009
So we started with Peugeot Classics on February 1st 2023
and finished off today February 28th 2023 with Xantia-Crankshaft Pulley Bolt 1 Newcastle Falcon 0 .

I think we have seen a Peugeot classic today with Mick's entry on the Classics under £10k thread. There's another one for the first thread selected in the Ferret. I think each thread each day got a new contribution so they may hang around on the active pages for a while.

I certainly enjoyed doing it, thanks to all who viewed and especially to those that joined in with posts on this thread or on each day's selected thread.

I was wondering what would be the first item in the "Manic March" thread!

Totally agree with Jim, and of course there is no reason why someone else shouldn't run a themed thread as and when an idea crops up :-D

I am hibernating from threadstarting in March James, so that baton will need picking up...23 Reg's will be upon us, and the Nissan dealers at Hexham had a crop of them waiting 23 plated up for the allotted handover's tomorrow.
