Thirdment?
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Bit of a long haul for me I'm afraid although I must confess I did use Google Street View to see where the hostelry was.

As an aside, what a strange one way system through the village.

I am hatching a plan for meets in and around the rest of the country Paul as both Jim and I are keen to meet as many FCFers as we can.

There will be something in your part of the world at some point. Of course everyone is encouraged to select places and post up invites on here. :)

Indeed, due to it being bypassed when the A5 was upgraded and made a dual carriageway a few years ago the village effectively ended up on what looks a bit like a long slip road on and off the dual carriageway. Previously the A5 went straight through the middle of the village...

The traffic within the village proper is two-way but is one way only as you get close to the A5 on and off slips...

Bypassing it has made it a vastly more pleasant place... The heaviest through traffic is mostly bikes as the road to Great Brickhill and onward to Soulbury includes some rather tasty hills :D

Down the bottom of these hills is another fine hostelry - The Three Locks... And a very scenic spot it is too, being on the Grand Union Canal...

Further to my suggestion on the Ends thread here can I suggest we meet for lunch on 14/15th March (I am away 5th-11th) at The Crown and Sceptre as shown on this map? If I get some attendees I'll book the table! :-D

I would love to, but I will be with Mum on her narrowboat then. I will be back in Reading by 20/03. Have fun, everybody.

That'll be good for me Mick :D Robyn was asking today when I'm next off out for a good vegan lunch with my car friends!

Shame you can't join us James :(

Did you see John Motson, the football commentator who passed away recently, spent his last night in the George at Little Brickhill...

Ok, I'll leave it for a few days before I book in case anyone else can only make one of the days. I'll ask my mate Bob from the September Stroll if he would like to join us too as he doesn't follow the forum!! :-D

Bob has confirmed he is free on the 15th so that will be the date. Now we have date, 15th March, time 12.30 and venue The Crown and Sceptre sorted. I just need to know the number before I make the booking. So anyone else able to come please post up asap :-D
