I may be well north of sixty now but no way am I a geriatric Ryan ;)

That's excellent news James :D Looking forward to seeing you!

I may not be on top-form today :( I've really been suffering hay-fever recently and I tried taking a tablet for it. Bad mistake. It nearly killed me yesterday with a bad adverse reaction. Wiped me out from mid-morning and still not right this morning...

Evil little bastar*ds  Anyone want them before I consign them to the best place for them, down the bog...

I should have known better as most medications do their best to kill me... My mangled-up immune system does not appreciate it at all and lets me know in no uncertain terms...

If it's any consolation Jim, any hayfever tablets based on Cetirizine have the same effect on me, however Loratidine have no ill effects at all and my daily tablet keeps me free of hayfever and other things that used to irritate me. Now I just suffer the occasional sneezing fit after eating but I've not yet identified the actual cause! :)

I read on another thread about yours Paul... Really feel for you, a horrible thing to have to live with

That's interesting to know Mick... I'm now nervous to try anything else - rather have hay fever than what I've just gone through... Don't expect me to be my usual self today... If the hayfever does get worse or is prolonged this year I'll give the Loratidine a go. I'll have to choose my time for it, just in case...

Thanks Jim, I'm hopefully through the worst and well on the way back up again.

Have a good day everyone.

I bought some Loratidine tabs for the very itchy rash on my legs.
No effect whatsoever, like most things. Certainly no adverse reaction like yours Jim. Just nothing.

Yep, about how medications are with me Steve... Usually no effect whatsoever or a big adverse reaction with nothing in between... Paracetamol, Voltarol, aspirin and Ibuprofen do absolutely zero for me for instance but the stronger painkillers are very, very bad for me...

Made life 'interesting' when some bits of me got badly broke a while back... I seem to recall a fair tolerance for Morphine though  They gave up on trying to find an effective painkiller in the end, deciding it was better to be in pain than various sorts of agony...

I always keep a small stock of the usual painkillers in the house, just in case, and then end up binning them when I find they've gone past their use-by dates...

And this...

I had a few doses of Oramorph while I was in hospital. They really do keep it for urgent cases and are reluctant to dispense it willy-nilly.
