2014 C5 iii - no 'Define vehicle parameters' option in setup menu

Just that - according to the vehicle's owners' manual, the 'setup' menu options should read:-

Display configuration
Speech synthesis setting
Select language
Define vehicle parameters
Alert log

Mine provides these options only:-

Display configuration
Speech synthesis setting
Select language
On-board computer

Selecting 'On-board computer' gives:-

Diagnosis vehicle

Alert log
Status of functions

Both these functions work apparently normally, but there is still no option to alter the vehicle parameters.

How on earth do I set up the vehicle? Is this a known problem?

Any advice/guidance would be most welcome.

First we need to know which telematics unit you have installed - pop your VIN up if you don't know (please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff).

Each system has different configuration options and the manual you have may be referring to a system you don't have.

Ok, so you have an RT6 or eMyWay sytem fitted.

Most of the functions can be altered using the instrument panel LCD display - refer to page 27 on for this to change lighting and comfort options.

The menus in the RT6 itself can change slightly as firmware updates are released for the system. The latest and last firmware update available is V2.86 for reference.

However, if you look at page 46 of the manual, you'll also see the asterisk against the 'Define Vehicle Parameters' and that states that the feature depends on country.

Thanks for the info, Marc.
However, I'm no nearer altering any defaults! Neither the manual nor the car give any clue as to how to achieve this. The 'status of functions' simply lists the current status of some of those functions. I've tried pressing cursor keys and the knurled knob, but they don't achieve anything useful ....
Any bright ideas?

For example. cancel the automatic drivers' seat retraction (the 'Welcome' function), as I often use the vehicle with the rear seats down. There are other irritations, but if I can learn to change mone parameter .....!

Right - forget the Head unit - that is not done from there. It is done as I said from the instrument panel menu behind the steering wheel.

Refer to my previous post above regarding page 27 of the manual. Remember the car must not be moving to do this. Only then can you activate the menu by pressing the left hand button wheel on the steering wheel. Navigate to the COMFORT option shown where I have highlighted in Blue Arrows. Select this option and press the wheel button on COMFORT to get to the options to turn the driver's welcome function on or off.

Many thanks, Marc - that did indeed crack the problem. I must be getting past it, getting confused between screens, but clear enough on re-reading the instructions!!
