Xantia alloys

Post by np »

Hi again.Just like 2 say that this forum is great.Only been a member a week, but allready learnt more than i have after 2 1/2ys with car(a lovely car!)Good 2 get different views & feedback.
Anyway,i`ve been offer`d a set of alloys off a Exclu/activa,not sure which yet. There in better nick than mine & free!!They have 205/60/15 tyres which r good.My alloys(vsx)have 185/65/15`s,which need renewing soon. Will the rolling resistance be the same,I.E same gearing & speedo reading??
Cheers

Try this
http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html
As Peter says the 205's are about 6mm larger diameter about 1%.

Had 4 new 205/60/15v put on today.£200 all in for Firestones.Replaced my 185/65/15`s as all worn.No difference in speedo etc.Seems to ride a bit better now.

Can you measure the rim width of the VSX and Exclusive alloys and tell us the difference? [;)]

Sorry,no.I didn`t have the other alloys in the end. They were a bit to kerbed after closer inspection. My VSX alloys arn`t kerbed,so stuck with them.Had the 205`s put on them.Though looking at mine(which had 185/65/15)& looking at the Exclusive wheels, there seems to be no difference in how they look on the car,so i would say both wheels are the same width.

Just had them fitted.2 Rears from 1 dealer, the 2 fronts from another. No probs at all.I think that the alloys are 6 inch wide, whether they have 185`s or 205`s.Theres only about 10mm difference in the width when the tyres are on.
