Just had some LED seven-Metre strings delivered, sent on the 5th and no movement from the PO until today.

Yesterday I finally received a small eBay item despatched 12 days ago... The packet had a big '48' on the address label. Maybe that now means 48 days  Or maybe weeks...

Good job it was nothing I needed urgently... At least your Christmas lights arrived in time for the festivities :-D 8-)

I ordered an RG45 splitter on 28th November to use at Christmas. It arrived on Saturday and I installed it yesterday to find it doesn't work!!! They are sending a replacement but unlikely to get here in time so there will be some plug swapping instead!! :-D

They are going in my son's garage to replace the fluorescent tubes.
Tried one out powered by an old laptop supply. The lights said 5/12/24V so used a 19V supply. Worked OK, left them on and ten minutes later were off. Good start. Tried them with a new power supply and they just flash at about 2Hz.
More bodging required.

I lit my recently emptied container on 5 similar strips of LED's which I powered from a leisure battery having no supply available. One clear advantage of that was absolutely no flicker issues at all. Rough usage guide would be 6-8 hours per week and I had to bring the battery home for a charge every 2-3 months. Worked well for me and at some point, having recovered it all, I may get round to fitting them up in the leanto and greenhouse!! :-D

Loving your new look Mick ;) Suits you sir!

This applies to both of you: we really must meet up again soon for a good old chat and catch-up...

Maybe also time to revisit plans to have an FCF meetup in 2023?

That's what SWMBO said!!! :-D
Yes maybe we could get together when all available and toss some ideas around for the 2023 gathering. I have to say there weren't that many members putting their hands up when I started the thread about it so a sensible venue may well be middle England. I'm pretty free in general so maybe Mike can suggest a day when he is free and we can get together? :-D

Excellent Mick :D I'm pretty free most days in the week so lets go for it... Something to properly look forward to!

Lots of good venues in Middle England to cogitate about... I'll offer the museum at Gaydon as an opener... Easy to get to from most anywhere in the country...

Yes Gaydon is good for the gathering as would be the Cotswold Museum in Bourton on the Water, maybe a hotel somewhere between the two could allow us to visit both! Meanwhile for a chat between us can I suggest a meet around Chesham area as being pretty central to MK, Reading and Hertford. Obviously anyone else who'd like to chip in is very welcome!! :-D

That sounds like a good plan Mick :) Never been yo Chesham despite being not such a huge distance from it so it'll be something of an adventure...
