That reminded me of a quote from one of my former motorsport friends. He sent me a photograph of me at the wheel of my autotest Samba on the Dunlop Autotest similar to this one that I have borrowed from the web:
BFTW
BFTW
It was for inclusion in our newletter,'The Big End' which I edited, within his article on Tips for Autotesting and he added the caption:

"A decent knob is a tremendous aid to rapid steering and fast times, (I mean the one on the wheel, not the one behind it!!)"

:-D

We used to have a lot of fun choosing which two wheels to cross the control lines until they added "of the same axle"

At one autotest in the FINE FARE car park in Elgin they used the steel lamp posts in the middle as bollards. The last test of the day was a high speed slalom up and back the length of the car park using all the poles as bollards.
Bollards of Steel right enough. One car ran out of brakes at the end of one test and went straight through the rose bush border at the edge of the car park. Oops!

Two clues as to when that was:-

This is a typical winter Cascades Search and Rescue. Casey explains a lot of the safety stuff that needs to be in place (even though he is going out single manned ). No dramas, no hype.

Hole in one, Mick.
This was yesterday morning as my grand daughter insisted on taking her dolls out for a walk in her new pram from Santa.
Beautiful morning for a stroll it was too.
