If and when we buy a Chinese or Indian take away locally it lasts us 3 days but they are all about quantity and not quality - this is Fife after all and the "average" Fifer would fight to protect his last farthing.

LOML has been asked to do Wedding Favour boxes before but only rarely agrees. If she does, I get the job of portioning them precisely, wrapping them then boxing them carefully and they never get made more than 2 days before the wedding.

Apparently Nestlé have taken over Fussels, but you may be able get it as Nestlé Light Condensed Milk.

But this post is 14 years old.

Tesco have the Nestlé one.
My brother has a bit of a sweet tooth and used to make sandwiches of it, with sugar on :puke:

LOML has tried Nestle but it is not the same as Fussells. The search continues.

I did find out that Fussells has been taken over by Nestlé.

yes and thanks. You are the second person to mention that. Unfortunately Nestle didn't keep using the Fussells recipe and sold their own version which doesn't give the same results. We are on a sort of mission around Aldi, Lidl and lots of Polish Food shops to try out other variations. So far, no success. But she tweeks her Evaporated Milk recipe and that is usually ok - if it doesn't pass QC she often bins it!!!!!! Not even a morsel for the Plebs or me.

It is home made fishcakes for tea today - plus my usual soup for lunch.

I use up the evaporated milk in my coffees - LOML takes her's black. Shame!

I see FIFA supremo Infantino is claiming The Qatar World Cup is the best ever. Am I being bad minded when I can't help thinking he might have an extra suitcase on the flight home?

Nah, not an extra suitcase; they wouldn't be that cheap. How about a new private business jet (with a nicely stocked safe)?

You obviously have an inflated sense of value attached to Football. Now, if it was Cricket?

I don't know why I just clicked on this. They are generally just B/S. However, I did and I feel it kind of resonates with how things can be sometimes.

I used to have a habit of looking like I fell off the back of a Flitting on some occasions with my old style, baggy boiler suit and black Tammy hat. If I had appointments I wouldn't put my working clobber on and not get covered in grease or paint dust. But sometimes people would come into the bodyshop, not the office, and walk past me to the cleanest looking Mechanic and ask for the Boss. You could just see it in their faces when they were directed back to me. Some were properly apologetic but some still looked down their noses at me. Those were the ones who were asked to make an appointment in the office as "I was busy at the moment".

I think the worst case of this was when someone came into the workshop while I was cleaning the toilets and said to me "haven't you got an Apprentice to do that?" Everyone in my business took turns to get the "Pieces" and clean the floor and do the toilets. As far as I was concerned, none of us were any better than anyone else and, if you needed time off, we all would cover as best we could, even if it was short notice. We could expect the same in return if we needed it. The ones that were happy with that lasted a long time. The ones that didn't, left.
