On violins, Sandra Cygan.
She couldn't afford her own violin so had to borrow from her school and go busking for money to buy her own.

15 here, 18 now and seems to be doing very well from it.

Not her best but was playing when I saw the above.

Usually seen repairing buggered engines, generators and the like, and carrying them up steep hills.

This is a bit of a diversion for her.

I have an unusual back up/server device for my phones and Chromebook.

I use a Mini Hub with a 1Tb SD card as shared storage but it also acts as a charging hub, an Ethernet Cable connector, a HDMI screen output, a TF card reader and a USB hub for upto 4 items

The Data/Charging lead out of the left side is bi-directional for data and charging as is the first type C socket shown on the left end of the face. I can use the hub as just a charger and can use both the type Cs and standard USBs - the Chromebook charger being a very effective High Output source for this. All the cables are High Speed/Fast Charging and have worked well over the last 3 or 4 months. Now that I have tried it out, I thought I might share it with you.

My blue phone has 8Gb memory and 256Gb Ram as well as very good cameras front and rear - 48/8/13 main and 20 Mp selfie. My red phone is a LG V20. One of the last phones to have a replaceable battery, but it's big plus is its B & O sound. Way above average and superb with a decent set of earphones. Its other trick is that is completely Modular and you can repair it ad infinitum. It has taken me a long time to sort this combination out but I am sticking with them now. No upgrades for me.

If you look on the blue Mi screen you will also see that I archive all of my pictures in albums - lots of them.

Same on the V20 but, me being me, I back it all onto the Mini Hub which can then also back up to our desk top upstairs and ultimately the Netgear Server and Hub I have purchased and plan to hook up shortly. I have installed Cat cables to the Sitootery and the Summerhouse so I won't need to rely on WiFi.

Going to be a busy boy after I finish my painting and decorating.

The reason I picked out this video is that it showcased a Hillman Imp in the opening sequence. I started my motorsport odyssey in one as the rear compartment "Bouncer" along with my little brother. Apparently 2 kids counted as 1 adult at that Club Trial.

There are a couple of outstanding runs. See what you think.

Ok. I know both the Imps are Sunbeams of different flavours. However, has anyone found the plucky Citroen yet!

Durris Hillclimb used to be a frequent event for me. It used the access road up to the Transmission Mast for a very long and surprisingly quick course - hence the barrel chicane half up the start straight.
The green Galant early in the video was a very quick road car.
There is a Maguire Mini further in which is in the Modified class. OORS (our 1961 Morris Mini ) had to compete against it once as she was sans MOT that weekend. She was not last in Class though. Past her MOT on the monday afternoon and was back in the Road class for the remaining events.

Whilst I'm not very enthused with most forms of motorsport, hillclimb is a notable exception... Something I'd really love to try and get involved in...

I guess it follows on nicely from my love of time trialling and duathlon, effectively a time trial sandwiched between two runs, you against the clock...

The only other motorsport I ever got involved with was a bit of 100cc kart racing whilst serving in Cyprus in the early 80s... Not only did we race but had to do all our own prep. and rebuilds/repairs. As it was done under military auspices it had to have a purpose and the engineering side and knowledge gained from it was seen as being very valuable...

I learned a lot about 2-stroke engines and developed a love of the aroma of Castrol-R... Happy days :D Was always rubbish at the actual racing though... The only thing I can race against is the clock...

So you are a Castrol R addict. Difficult to wean off from that one is. There are lots of different Club level Motorsports available. Give me a wee while and I will put up a list of them in All Things Motorsport with a bit of an explanation for each of them. Has anyone heard of Regularity Trials, for instance. They are not limited to motor vehicles but take a fair bit of skill to get spot on.

Ah, the great smell of Cazzy-R!
