That looks like an old railway line Neil...

I did like your 'modified' photo of the same scene in another thread :D

Saw this railway bridge this moring during my run. Never realised it was there, or indeed the railway, but for NR doing a huge vegetation clearance in readiness for more East West Rail works...

This railway runs tight up against the bottom end of Caldecotte Lake in south Milton Keynes and a sensitive part of it too... Previously, the vegetation totally hid it...

Never has the thread title been more appropriate, this happened to me on my way to a pet food delivery today, resulting in a 3 mile diversion route to get to the other side!!

Now those familiar with railwaycodes.org (http://www.railwaycodes.org.uk/elrs/elr0.shtm) will easily translate the sign and be able to look up precisely where the footbridge is. ECM7 does translate to The East Coast Mainline and the 7 is the region it passes through.

The full Code on the sign is
ECM7 (ie Newcastle to Berwick upon Tweed)
81E (Asset Identifier)
23 Miles 62 Chains (Distance in Miles and Chains from the start of the ECM7 region ie Newcastle Upon Tyne)

Passed this on Saturday. Had I been driving I would have driven over it, something last done a couple of decades ago when the flyover was closed.

But Mum would have been furious, as I would have to pinch her boat horn (which, previously, was a hunting horn).
