One thing I didn't mention about the strut top work on the C4 was that the sound/heat insulation down the back of the engine had to be removed and it was in such a state that we didn't consider it worth putting back: :-D

However while driving down to Romford today I did detect a slight engine noise when going uphill so when I got home I dug out my stock sheet of proofing and got to work with the scissors producing these:

So if the engine undercover clips don't get here tomorrow at least I'll have something to frustrate me to death trying to fit them as designed!! :-D

Pop them in a large pot with ph neutral soil, water them and wait till next spring by which time you'll have two buried soggy trim clips!! :-D

The new insulation is in place so I can now declare the car is ready for Germany, although hopefully it will have the bright and shiny undercover fitted by then too!! :-D

I decided to take the car down to my tyre man to have the front wheels balanced as it had shown a touch of vibration at around 68 mph. Sure enough both wheels were out of balance and after resetting them I took it up the A10 for a test and it is fine now. :)

Another little packet arrived this morning containing the fastenings for the undercover so up went the car: =D>
Jacked till the car was level
Jacked till the car was level
I decided to have the car level to make alignment easier underneath otherwise the undercover would have tried to slide down and simply make it trickier to fit. That meant the ramps would be too high so I compromised with jacks and stands.

It took a while to figure out which type of fastener went where, but I got it sorted in the end! :-D
Bright and shiny to improve airflow and hence fuel consumption, I don't think ground effect comes into it!

Now I just need the armrest storage box to complete the car, I'm told it will be here today!! :-D

Sorry Mick, I think you are also missing number 5 on diagram here:

Quite right Matt, but I'm not concerned about that. No potential drips on SWMBO's drive from the front bumper!! :-D

As a general tip, should you find yourself looking for body/trim clips etc., don't just jump on the ones for your car as I did:

Have a good look round the market and you'll be surprised what good value you can get if you look for things that 'will do the job' :

I was so impressed that I have ordered the Tucson set for stock!! :-D
