Car racing on the Sands (1934) (Southport) attracted huge numbers of spectators.

This is a bit of a mish mash compiled from my bible:
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I've posted this before in another context but as I took the photo down at the Albert Dock in Liverpool it can bear another showing.
Two beautiful cormorants showing off. You can see why many people think that the Liver bird is based on a cormorant.

Couple of hours to go for Lancashire in the spotlight.
Happy for anyone to select the customary Brewery and Pub of the day. Doesn't matter if selections overlap.
I probably wouldnt choose this one other than for idle curiosity and the fact that it is the only Pickled Egg pub in the entire world. They must realise its a world heritage site everything round about it has been demolished and in the process of redevelopment in November 2021.

Following on from the brewery selection, my pub of the day is the place where any self respecting stag party should visit!
Worth a visit, check it out here.

I enjoyed it (theManchester Canal thing) I like enthusiasm and his quote here
Regards Neil
Bit of minor mudlarking too, in the last weeks I have become aware of mudlarking having become a thing youtube-wise and have watched the not so muddy youtubers Northern Mudlarks, from Newcastleton doing their mudlarking and beachcombing activities round these parts on their youtube channel. Same ones that did the Elie Rubies day out in the Fife day in the spotlight. There will be people walking past today that will probably see it but won't be interested you know, and here am I stood in the middle of the canal having a semi-religious experience!

Indeed I had but when looking for a suitable Thwaites pub I just couldn't resist the rather unusual pub name! Still it does leave room for a true Lancashire pub although I did point to one in my very early post on Lancashire!NewcastleFalcon wrote: ↑10 Jun 2022, 17:07

I had a look through that list and I think you picked the best one Neil, however I did come across another of the registrations:
