Re: Diagbox question

Post by Leike »

Thanks for the answers,

I haven a 1.6thp petrol engine. I was playing with Diagbox and made changes to the bsi. In almost the same week I changed the battery.
And there it was; u0140. I the beginning I thought it was the new battery, but after seeing this topic, it’s most likely I changed the wrong thing in the bsi.

How can I get the correct setting for the bsi?

What have you changed? You shouldn't touch the BSI - there's no undo and you can brick your vehicle if you don't know what you're doing. You'll have to remember what you changed in order to change it back.

I changed not a lot, but enough to have the warning light on. But the worse part of it, I did not take any back-ups or photos of what I changed

But the photographs of paddypaws77 were helpful.. i changed my bsi with the settings of him and my mill-lights is out.

@paddypaw77, I miss some photographs, can you please sent the missing ones, if you still have them.

Like the bsi ecus present , the part between; windscreenwiper and electric parking brake.
The bsi power unit, the part after; presence of a nitrogen oxide reduction system.
Bsi driving comfort, the part after: type of air distribution

And do you have also photographs of the settings off the telematics or radio navigation ecu.

I hope you are willing to sent the pictures, so I can fix my bsi.
Thanks in advance!

That may not help as his vehicle may have different equipment and options to your vehicle and different settings, so copying his settings may cause further problems.

He would have to have the same engine and factory fitted options as you including the same telematics options, gearbox type etc etc as well as trim level and same parking assistance as these affect the operation of other equipment.

Agree! My car is a diesel so very different. At the end of the day my cure was a new additive tank. A petrol car doesn't have an additive tank.
I don't have the pictures you are refering to and certainly never seen anything about "nitrogen oxide reduction system". That must be petrol specific.

No, the last bit you are referring to is the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction ) system, which treats the NOx in the catalytic converter assembly, by using Urea (Adblue) which converts the gasses to harmless water and nitrogen. It's for later diesel vehicles, but in your case, your 307 and 5008 - neither of these have this system fitted (too early). The SCR system was added to vehicles circa 2016 onwards and reduces this type of emission, which complements the separate DPF system which treats the particulate matter specifically.

It's another reason why I don't think this will help Leike with his configuration.

Thanks for your reactions.

I understand that there are slight some differences, like the rearview camera, heads-up display and diesel engine.
But I thinks there are more similarities then differences. So I think I can compare the settings from paddypaw77 and converse them with my options in the car. It already helpt me to get rid of the u0140 warning light.
So maybe with the extra photos i’am a step closer to my original settings.

Or do you have someone who has an 2014 facelift model of a 5008 with an 1.6 thp engine?

Look, if you provide me with your own BSI screenshots, page by page, with a clear view without missing anything off the top / bottom and post them here (In the correct Order top to bottom) I will have a look at the configuration for you. You will need to provide your VIN in full so I can see what equipment and other options you have and I will see which options are incorrect and advise accordingly. It will take a little time, but you're obviously desperate to get your car working. I normally don't have the time to do this, but will try to assist today if you can get me the info.

Hopefully you have not changed too much, but I hope this is a lesson learned not to play with the BSI settings in future.

at first i wish everyone the best wishes for 2024, and endless joy from our french cars we drive!

i am so thankfull, that you are offering me help. and yes, this is a hard learning point for me.

for the start i s this my vin number; VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I had made an excel data sheet with all the settings in correct order, but that is in dutch. i made a compare with my settings ( column orig 6417), the settings of paddypaws77 (1.6 hdi)
and the setting of an 3008 from 2009 (a car of a custumor of me).

unfortunately i can not attach those files, so i will make the pictures
