What exactly are you entering when you connect up. If you provide is with a step by step account including the exact model you are selecting, what menu choices you are choosing etc., it may help.

Something is not correct at your end as it's a common procedure for vehicles new and old since at least for the last 22 years on PSA Diesels.

Repetition:
After all, your problem isn't a firmware problem, it's a VCI problem or an input error and your firmware changes are therefore completely pointless - finally drop this nonsense.
Maybe/possibly you chose the wrong vehicle after all.

1. There were old clone B-VCI (1st generation) which could only work up to firmware 4.2.4 - this can only be checked if the appropriate software (LEXIA 348 (firmware 4.2.2) or DB V05.27 ( Firmware 4.2.4) is installed and used. Both software variants would be suitable for your vehicle. With an Eprom program or NLC software, it was possible to a limited extent to reflash these things from B to C - far too much effort.

2. The second generation B-VCI could usually be reflashed from B to C with an NLC program and thus used with the DB software up to 9.xxx (firmware 4.3.7).

3. The newer versions are so-called C-VCI versions; However, they are not real C-VCI, but only flashed accordingly by the manufacturer.
Only originals are real C-VCI.
see also post viewtopic.php?t=70008

Solution:
Either you install the LEXIA 348 and the VCI works, then you have a first generation VCI - if not "garbage can"
or
You ask a forum member in your area for help and then you can check the software and VCI
or
You are on holiday in Würzburg (Germany) - I own a LEXIA 348, a DB 7.57, a DB 9.xx etc.
or
You are buying a decent VCI - it is very likely that you have bought an inferior VCI or damaged it with a flash.

The car and process (from memory so might not be 100% accurate):
C4 Grand Picasso 2008 2.0Hdi 6spd EGS
Process more or less the same for both Diagbox and Lexia 3
(using firmware V4.2.4 and DB V7.57)

Car and chassis number auto detected
Communication ok with ALL ECU's on car
Maintenance
Maintenance of Deisel Fuel Additive
Enter mileage (in KM)
Enter Gearbox option (6spd manual)
Enter Engine type 2.0Hdi
Enter Date code (11391 from door pillar = Jan 2008)

Error message - this task cannot be performed on vehicles manuifactured before 2009!

I tried installing V5.02 but unable to activate as instructions poor just keep getting error 20

Have not yet found a download for Lexia 348.

Well that firmware is too high for the software version of Diagbox (see my table a few posts back) Firmware 4.3.4 is only installed at version 7.66. That is one issue straight away as it is well known that the incorrect firmware can cause problems with the incorrect software version.

I should also point out that there were 2 possible versions of system on the early C4 Picassos.

The early system may use the separate additive ECU made by Magneti Marelli and these are located under the left dash near the BSI if fitted. They often had a tendency to fail, resulting in the inability for the additive counter to be reset and required a new module to resolve this.

The later system did away with the separate Additive ECU, this function then being controlled directly by the engine ECU.

Unfortunately I can't advise as to which system you have, but wanted to advise you.

Whether you can run a Global Test, wait for the scan to complete and then look at the list of ECUs displayed which it has communication with. You are looking for EAS300 to be shown up in the list of ECUs which is the separate additive ECU if fitted.

A patch is required to activate DB V05.02 - the application is not preactivated. As far as I can remember, different patches are also required for possible updates of 05.xx - it was also a very long time ago.

It is easier to install the old LEXIA 345 and the update 348. An activation program is required there. Actually, the old LEXIA 345 + update 348 + activation program and for the old Peugeot PLANET are usually also included on the DVDs when you buy the LEXIA/DIAGBOX - please check.

I should still have installation instructions for the old LEXIA (in German) somewhere and could send them by email.

All this can only be an attempt. It only works with the old LEXIA if you bought a properly working VCI of the first generation.

Personally, I rather believe that your VCI is of inferior quality or flashed broken and does not work correctly with any software.
Why can't you return the "bastard"???

I will re-install 7.57 run a global and look out for EAS300

Firmware used was 4.2.4 NOT 4.3.4

Can't return it as had it for quite a few years now and never had an issue until now.

I got these instructions from a member on another forum, although for an earlier 2006 Peugeot using PP menu options I found differed slightly but they weren't far off the mark.
Still didn't work for me yet but I get a lot further then using the maintanence menu and was offered the fluid reset option without the manufacturing year error and I did manage to set the fluid pouch size from 2.2L to 2.4L

I should note I rolled back VCi firmware back to 4.2.4.

Oh and the additive ECU did not come back as an EAS300

1. Load and get your Diagbox / PP2000 up and running and interfaced to your car.
2. Select ECU Configuration and Services.
3. Select Global Test and follow prompts.
4. The diags will take up to 5 mins to run.
5. Select Diesel Fuel Additive Control unit.
6. Select Configuration.
7. Select Cleaning or replacement of DPF.
8. Note the number of injections and double click the red text. Follow the prompt and ok.
9. First counter Zero reset completed.
10. Select Replacement of filling of res'
11. READ the INSTRUCTIONS on Screen and press ok.
12. Note the count and double click the red counter and it will be reset after okaying the warning.
13. remove the ignition key and unplug PP from the diag port.
14. Unlock the fuel cap and remove and count to 10 and replace.
15. Plug back in PP and power the ignition but don't start the engine.
16. Select Cleaning or replacement of DPF again and check the counter is still 0.

So you may not have the separate additive ECU then - as I said it was on the earlier systems before going fully Engine ECU controlled.

At least you have it sorted now.

Additive pump ECU came back as POMPE_MUX_MGI

Puch size change confirmed ok and reads 2.4L (changed from 2.2L) so that bit worked.

Still getting Additive puch fluid level low warning despite Diagbox stating pouch reset had been taken into account. (Could this be the pump hasn't pumped any fluid thorugh yet? I have audibly tested the pump a couple of times and it does run)

Although I have never heard the additive pump run in 11 years owning the car.

That's the multiplexed additive pump itself.

Just a thought, I was wondering if the pouch size setting could be poor translation and rather than entering capacity of pouch should it be set to ZERO?

It does mention resetting the pouch capacity when accepting the pouch reset - why? a standard pouch would be the same size so why prompt you to reset the figure?
