Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
Are you sure that the actual hardware that plugs in (the VCI) is full chip and Rev C?

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
Diagbox firmware automatically installed:
Have you actually first tried a Global Diagnostic before trying to go into the repair menu? It would be interesting to see which ECUs it is not having a dialogue with.
If it is not communicating with certain ECUs then it may be because your clone is not a full chip kit and is missing some hardware, which the cheaper units don't have.
Also it would help if you put your VIN up (automatically masked on post submission) so I can see if this early Picasso has a separate additive ECU or not.
Edit: Scrub that, it looks like you have the DW10BTED4 engine and the earlier C4 Pics had a pouch system (which you said you have) and the later model went over to the reservoir. So the earlier one has a separate additive pump and the later version has it integrated into the reservoir.
DB Version | Firmware Version | PP2000 Version | Lexia Version |
V7.02 | 4.3.0 | 600.70 | 500.46 |
V7.57 | 4.3.2 | 600.71 | 500.66 |
V7.58 | 4.3.2 | 600.71 | 500.66 |
V7.62 | 4.3.3 | 600.72 | 500.68 |
V7.66 | 4.3.4 | 600.72 | 500.68 |

Yes global test communicates with all ECUs
And I can run/test the additive pump from Diagbox (can hear it running)
VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
How do I insert an image/screenshot here?

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
1. The VCI should actually be connected before starting the DB so that the firmware is updated. The vehicle must then be diagnosed with DB.
2. Firmware 4.2.4 corresponds to DB V05.xx up to about 5.29 - there it was possible to select DB LEXIA as an alternative for 2008 vehicles.
3. If the firmware is changed from 7.57 (4.3.2) to 4.2.4, anomalies occur.
The language can be changed on all diagnostic devices.
4. Completely uninstall DB and remove all fragments and only install the LEXIA 345 + Update 348. Citroen vehicles up to 2009/2010 can be diagnosed with this - the good old LEXIA can only be started if the VCI is connected.
5. Or install DB V05 and update up to max. 5.27.
There were always VCIs that could no longer work with firmware higher than 4.2.4 - maybe you have a China cracker - it almost looks like it - but these VCIs can work with the old LEXIA 348 and the DIAGBOX V05.27 work correctly.

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
Addendum:
The screenshots show a LEXIA image.
If the DB is installed, it should/must also be used for vehicles from 2008 onwards. Thanks to the changed firmware from 7.57 (4.3.2) to 4.2.4, the Lexia can be used - but with unsatisfactory results.
If the DB 7.57 with the right firmware 4.3.2 doesn't work on the DB, that's a VCI problem - see my post a few minutes ago.

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
Ok I'll try again tomorrow hopefully and connect the PSA (VCI) prior to starting diagbox so it will then update the VCI firmware to 5.3.2
But how does the VCI firmware effect the year diagnostics can be peformed?

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
I assume the software installation is ok.
There is a very high probability that you have a China cracker that can no longer work with firmware higher than 4.2.4 and therefore also not correctly with software V07.xx. A firmware change to 4.2.4 is possible - but with unsatisfactory results.
If a diagnosis with the DIAGBOX software 7.57/firmware 4.3.2 fails, this confirms my suspicion.
Then the only option left is the good old LEXIA 348
or to install DB V05 max. 5.27.
Alternatively, buy a decent full-chip clone or a used original VCI.

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
I let diagbox update VCI firmware and as predicted it now will not communicate with car.
However I still don't understand how the VCi firmware is going to change the year my car was manufactured to enable the DPF fluid reset?
Will DB v5.XX have my car on it?
I have also just opened up my VCi and it is as far as I can tell a full chip version.

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
1. The old LEXIA 348 contains all vehicles up to 2009.
2. Diagbox V05.27 contains all models up to 2010.
3. Whether your VCI then works correctly is possible - it can only be an attempt. It doesn't work with 7.57.
After you on XP prof. 32 bit installed would be the old LEXIA 345 + update 348 is the best choice for a try - the firmware should never be touched - the correct firmware is always installed automatically with the software version.
It's not about the right firmware for the right software, but about manipulation of the firmware because the VCI lacks the necessary quality.
If it doesn't work with the LEXIA 348 either, the VCI is undoubtedly the cause. Many Chinese firecrackers are not of sufficient quality - cheap parts are used - and/or defective soldered connections etc.
If you buy cheap, you buy three times. There are also decent clones - but they are not cheap - e.g. at easydiagnostic - or used original VCI.
If a member of the forum, who lives near you and has a working diagbox, this could best be tested - start a poll.

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
OK which, would you recomend 5.27 or Lexia?
BUT I'm still yet to understand how this can change the cars year of manufacture requirement by the software?
Already contcted a local person of the list thanks a couple of weeks ago but as yet no response.

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
Just get a Full Chip Revision 'C' Lexia 3 Kit. They are around £100-120 for a decent one.
There are 2 things, the hardware and the software. The hardware needs to be as I described above.
The Software is called Diagbox. It already contains the relevant Lexia (Citroen Vehicles) or Peugeot Planet 2000 (Peugeot Vehicles) software which is encapsulated within the main software called Diagbox.
When connected up, the main Diagbox programme will detect the vehicle and launch the relevant software programme.
It is the versions of the main Diagbox software that determine the year of the vehicles it will support.
For this vehicle (2008) all you need is Version 7.58 and leave it there. This is more than adequate as it covers vehicles up to November 2014. Don't worry about anything else, or it just gets confusing.
I suggest you use a dedicated laptop as the installation can be very messy, in case you need to reinstall the software again.

Re: Diagbox not communicating with car
I feel we're missing the point - the software will NOT allow a dpf additive reset for vehichles manufactured before 2009 (MY car variant is already in 7.57) and that's the same for diagbox and Lexia 3.
So i do not understand how the VCi firmware can change that?
