Christmas fun! Engine fell off it's mounting point while I was driving this afternoon. Thankfully at low speed and, hopefully, all I need to do is reattach it. Unfortunately, I have 2 sheared bolts and one missing one, so none are good for working out the length of bolts I need.

There's two parts to the engine mount (cambelt end of the engine). One attaches to the top of the suspension strut (or thereabouts) and the other is bolted to the side of the engine block, and the two parts bolt together. It's the bolts for connecting things to the engine block that I need to replace. Please could you check the part number for me (or post the diagram if my description isn't clear enough)?

VIN VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] (Xsara Picasso 1.6 16V)

Cheers and Happy Christmas / New Year! Paul

I'm struggling to source an aircon condenser for a Peugeot 208 1.2 petrol. I ordered one from a parts place based on the reg, and its too wide. Looking up on Euro car parts, it seems therre are two listed, with different widths. The one I need is the narrower one, with two lugs on the bottom and oune mounting lug on the top.
Vin is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Hope someone can help with a part number so I can talk more knowledgably with the parts company that are unsure about why the one they sent doesnt fit !

The correct VIN is VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] (I previously got it wrong).
Thank you.

Hi Paul. I broke an engine mount away in the same manner on my first BX 14 - Christmas Eve in Birmingham en route to the Isle of Wight - got a recovery and just scraped on the last ferry!

Anyway, here's the diagram, No 2? 3 off M10 x 1.5 x 77mm (no doubt at least 8.8 spec). Part no 180392 - £4.42 each

Hi Tim

There was an error in your VIN, but I have corrected it for future reference (F3 not F9). AC diagram below, but even Pug don't know what is fitted! Not sure what the difference between 'maintenance' and 'Maintenance free' is.... Seem to be different thicknesses, but by implication either should fit. PSA prices are in the range £123.70 to £611.50 !!

Thank you Richard - yes those at the ones. Not urgent, but could I trouble you for No 71 too, in case I lost one of those when the missing bolt went missing, please?

Many thanks. The various different numbers are not interchangeable, which is a right pain. I've looked at pictures of as many as I can find online and 6455JF is the one I need with three mounting lugs. All the others are the wider, four lug design that has pipe fittings pointing in the wrong direction. I think the maintenance version has a replaceable dryer.

Ah - there are only 2. I suspect that means I'm not missing one - thank you very much.

307cc door handle problem. The driver's side door handle keeps triggering the electric window to go up and down about half an inch. I understand it is designed to do this to clear the weatherseal at the top when opening/closing the door but the sensor in the handle seems to do it randomly while I'm driving along. I am guessing that other models of 307 don't have this sensor in the handle so just buying another handle won't cure the problem. Anyone know what the part number might be for the sensor? VIN: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

"The Door Handle (part) that contains the sensor is the same for both sides." according to GiveMeABreak.

The door handles are part no 9101X2, and the diagram shows them with connectors on:
Screenshot 2025-01-02 193305.png
They are £216.59 each - plus painting!

Other variants of the 307 show handles without connectors. They seem to be 307 only, so 2nd hand ones might be scarce.

If the door handles are not handed, and you seldom use the passenger door, could you possibly swap them over with the faulty sensor disconnected?

Hi,

VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

I would like to know the part number for a new fuel filter and where exactly it is in the vehicle.

Thanks!

Argh - these seem to have gone NFP now. Checking the bolts, they are 10.9 spec. I can find somewhere selling something equivalent in 12.9, but it'll need higher torque and I'm concerned about damaging the block (though I'm not sure whether I'm right to be concerned). The longest 10.9 spec M10 cap bolt I can find is 40mm.

Alternatively, is there any way to search the catalogue for other M10x150-xx bolts - where xx >= 77? If I can find something equivalent but longer, we can cut it to size. But I suspect the parts catalogue doesn't work that way - not to mention having to work out if they are 10.9 spec or something else.

Just because the steel is better spec doesn't mean that you have to tighten it up to a higher torque.
