More of a parts diagram request than a number so I can work out where an E clip goes please.

After knocking the windscreen spindle out and cleaning it I have this E clip left over. There is only 1 recess in the spindle and I was sure the C clip that retains the washer (that retains the O ring) uses it (photo). I remember taking it out but can't remember where from, maybe the recess but if so where does the C clip go?
This is the van Marc. Doing my head in now.
Cheers

Edit, Can't use the other side as a reference as that was dismantled to prove that the spingle comes out without removing the motor and all the gubbins

Here Pete, there are washers referred to at (2) and captive washers at (71) & (73), but can't see the clip unless it is (2).....

Hope I'm not butting in but I'd suggest that the e clip may come from one of the rod joints I have circled in red here:

No Mick, they clip on and off. The diagram that Marc has put up is slightly different to mine. The spindle comes up through it's support then there's an O ring, then a flat washer, then a C clip. Guessing it must be part of an assembly.
Thanks for the diagram Marc, though non the wiser
