I see your point, it makes logical sense. I am just going off a recommendation from a friend that 'knows about cars'. It's the classic 'anti-pollution system faulty' message that has started coming up. A couple of times, at high speeds, i've had it where all the electrical faults come on. In those situations, i've just pulled over, turned off the engine and started it up again and they all clear. I just drive slower after that happens and it doesn't happen again. This is what I described to my friend, and he told me to give this spray a go in the first instance to see if it resolves it. I am fully willing to take alternative advice.

Is you car a diesel or petrol, maybe a Cat issue, maybe a MAF, or many other possibilities. If you've got a Cit / Pug indie near your, chuck up a few beer tokens and get it plugged in. It'll save you a lot of time and give you an idea where the issue stems from without chucking loads of time, money, blood, sweat and tears at it.

It's a petrol. Will use the spray, see how it goes, then get it connected up to a diagnostics gizmo if needed after that. Thanks for your input, it is appreciated.

Make sure you connect her up to a proper diagnostics reader. Most of the cheap readers cannot 'understand' French cars (well, who can!), so may not return meaningful information or codes.

Sprayed it in this morning and watched the engine judder a bit on each spray (which it is supposed to do I believe). Went for an hour test drive up the motorway and back down at varying speeds, no error messages as of yet. I've booked it in with the local garage for a full service next week and will also mention this issue to the chap. Thanks again for your input.
