Hi all
I'm desparatly would like to know if a 5 or 6 CD charger fonction is existing on this unit for my Peugoet RCZ. Does a connector materially exists at the very back of the NG4 ? Can it be activated by software ?
Many thanks in advance for those who will be able to help me
Franck.

Re: CD Charger fonction on the WIPCOM3D / NG4 - Peugeot RCZ
It was never offered as an option on the RCZ. This may have been down to the space it requires to fit on an RCZ. The NG4 is capable of taking a CD Changer, but in all honesty, it’s pretty pointless.
Why don’t you rip all your CDs to your PC as MP3 files and then copy them onto a normal SD card and plug that into the front of the NG4 in the SD card slot?
It’s a far better option and will easily take high capacity SD cards. I used a 32Gb SD card and had hundreds and hundreds of songs on there. Much better than a CD changer.

Re: CD Changer fonction on the WIPCOM3D / NG4 - Peugeot RCZ
Hi Marc,
Many thanks for your answer
I know that my question can't sound pointless but the thing is that I don't really plan to add a CD changer to my Wipcom3D. I just wanted to know if it was capable of accepting it to add a bluetooth module on the CD changer connector and then, streaming music from my phone while keeping the wheel commands active. The Peugeot 3008 (1st gen) has been equiped with the same GPS system and I found mention of the CD changer option in the press release of it (as well as in the Wipcom3D manual for that very car) ; but nothing in the RCZ user guide.
Here is a picture of the NG4 backside. Would you be able to identify where the unit should normally be connected to the CD changer ? I guess that it has to be activated using a diagbox as well ?
Cheers !
Franck.

Re: CD Changer fonction on the WIPCOM3D / NG4 - Peugeot RCZ
The NG4 has telephone Bluetooth as you probably know, but will not support streaming music from any device. If you are planning on using a Yatour or similar to mimic the CD changer - bear in mind that will still be limited as it is only mimicking the CD changer, so you will have limitations to what you can do.
It's ok, I don't need the images of the rear, I have these already.
The connection you need is shown at 'E' below. Within Connector 'E', there is a separate block 'C'. This contains the connections for the CD Changer. Below are the pin assignments.
Part "C": 12-way black connector (*)
Furthermore, you may still need to activate the function in the BSI using Diagbox to enable it. Bear in mind the CD changer connections shown above are CAN enabled - so it is possible that the Yatour or other device may not be compatible with the electronic architecture in the vehicle.

Re: CD Changer fonction on the WIPCOM3D / NG4 - Peugeot RCZ
Hi Marc,
Many thanks for your accurate answer !
You understood it perfectly well : my plan consist in mimicking a CD changer to install a Phibu BT module behind my Wipcom3D. Two kinds of modules can be bought but the only one that keep most of all the steering wheel commands active (VOL +, VOL -, FF, FR) has to be pluged on the CD changer connector. However, this module won't be able to display any tracks listing or titles on screen (which I don't mind). Guess that I will have something like "CD changer #X" on screen instead ( ).
Here is the french webpage that sells the module I'm talking about. The module is sold as RD4 compliant so it will be CAN compatible.
https://www.phibu-electronics.com/nouve ... 2x34599710
According to your explanations, I'll have to use the 12 pins type #1 connector (wich is oriented) on the separate C block of the picture above.
Last step : activate the CD changer option using a Diagbox
I think that I'm correct here.
Btw, what are the other connectoers on the WIPCOM3D for ?
Cheers ! (and happy easter !).
Franck.

The other connections are:
"a" Aerial FM2.
"b" Aerial TV2 (for Japan only).
"c" Aerial TV1 (for Japan only).
"d" MQS cable connector.
"e" 3-part connector.
"f" GPS aerial .
"g" Aerial FM1/AM.
"h" LVDS 2 cable connector.
"j" USB socket connector.
"k" LVDS 1 cable connector.
Yes the music you use will be in 6 folders just like a CD changer - each containing your music files.
Personally - I never streamed music - much preferring to copy over albums onto the SD card and play it perfectly using all the controls of the steering wheel. Best of luck with the project.
