Much appreciated Paul.

Is resetting the ECU for a replaced DPF different from resetting the DPF additive counter? I have v7.** Diagbox and could give it a try. I did the additive reset in the past, but I'm unsure how the DPF reset is done (if at all possible).
Yes they are 2 different things, when you replace DPF (or have a proper clean done on it) you go in via diagbox in the engine ECU then the pack repair menu & select replacement of the particlate filter this will reset the DPF load back to zero.
On this engine its pretty easy to remove the DPF for cleaning, I always try not to disturb the metal pipe going into the DPF as they can snap off, instead I disconnect the pipe from the rubber hose that it attaches to & leave the metal pipe in situ.
@wheeler
Thanks that's really useful to know. Can I interest you in the job cleaning or just replacing as I already have a new DPF? I can come to you depending on how far you are from Kent.

Ok. thanks. That's quite ridiculous £300! Yes you can get a new one for less than that - I can't see them being in business much longer to be honest, a lot of the stuff is over-priced tat.

@Marc

I should balance my reluctance, to pay £300+ for an off vehicle DPF clean, by stating some mechanics expressed concern about using cheaper after market DPFs. I got mine on ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CITROEN-C4-U ... 3917462154. One mechanic said he would not fit it, as these build up waste significantly faster than the OEM DPF. I'm unsure if this is so, but if it is, cleaning my original and genuine DPF seems more appealing than replacing it, albeit with a new compatiable DPF.

Mitch

Hi I’ve had the same error p1445 additive.
I think I will need to remove and clean by dpf. Please can anyone share if they have done this Near East Midlands?

I agree there 100%. There are cheaper versions and then some - it's a matter of finding a balance of a reputable supplier and brand against price, but you should be able to get a decent near OEM one out there for a lot less than the dealer price as they are still made for multiple manufacturers at the end of the day.
