appreciate that mate i will have a look at that tomorrow and try sort that out, its odd because a couple months back my drivers door sounded like it was full of water and when i opened it you can hear it and then it dripped out of the bottom.
Lucky there then - but do check the scuttle drains as water can end up in the footwell of the interior if left to build up.

One other thing - if clearing any debris from the scuttle area, don't forget to park the wipers first - I've seen people do this and take all the paint off the bonnet edge with the wiper arm! You probably know, but after ignition off, just tap the wiper arm fully down to park and ditto again to reset.

ordered Delphi EGR and booked it in for the 26th for the work, I fired the car up this morning and every time the car fires up i get handbrake faulty and the ESP/ ASR. Its strange how its gradually got worse over past few days. I was wondering if the EGR is Faulty would i notice anything different when driving? it seems to drive with no problems no hicks or farts from the engine?

The only codes we are getting is "E8 P0405 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Sensor "A" circuit low "

Here's the fault code specific - Copy voltage too low:
Fault Code: P0405
Description of Fault: Electric EGR valve repeat signal fault: Copy voltage too low
Conditions for Fault to Return: When the valve is controlled: The fault codes are returned immediately in the engine management ECU
The diagnostic warning light only comes on and switches off after 3 engine starting cycles (**)
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:
  • The engine ECU cuts the regulating of the EGR (*)
  • The electric EGR valve auto-programming operations are no longer carried out
Symptoms: Switching on of the diagnostic warning light
Noise: Cold
Suspect Areas:
  • Engine ECU 5V shared supply
  • Electrical harness
  • Electric exhaust gas recycling valve
(*) Consequence for the parameter measurements:
Electric EGR valve control OCR = 0 %
Position repeat = 0 %

(**) 1 Starting cycles:
Engine start
Engine cut-off
Wait for the instrument panel to switch off

Testing requires:
  • Adaptor harnesses
  • Multimeter
  • Controlled terminal box (in manual mode) or manual terminal box

Cheers for that , I’ve been having a look at the drains behind the front wheels and the scuttle panel and I noticed there was a gap between windscreen and panel like it’s not sitting right

Ive managed to get it back on flush but I think all the rain water has been just running down my windscreen and ontop of the engine because the heat cloth stuff is soaking as well.

I am now itching to see if that’s what’s caused the problem with the egr but I think I’m best letting the mechanic do it haha. I had a drive in it before and got the reappearance of the depoluttion error with all the other errors.

Can I cause damage to the car driving it with these faults? I read others who have had similar the car has went into limp mode

It's quite awkward getting that trim back on - it should clip into the track at the bottom of the screen, but you need to feed it in from each side pressing quite hard to clip it in. It will all need to come off to do the EGR anyway... The fuel and air filters have to come out as well to do the EGR, if they've not been changed recently I would get them to stick new ones in whilst they are there.

Thanks rich I will get them to do that , rich since you have seen the area the egr valve is in do you think water could find it’s way to it with the scuttle problem?

Unlikely, it's a long way down! More likely it is just full of carbon and has stopped going round.
