Re: Climate control faulty 2009 C5 VTR NAV +
The steering rack manufacture on these is shameful, but I believe they are ZF. It's one of the reasons why I sold mine on as I was no way planning on having a fourth rack with a little over 70k on the clock. Whether it is ZF or the crappy sub-standard Japanese Steel they used I don't know, but in my experience German cars are no better and in many cases worse with all the overboard tech.
Please Don't PM Me For Technical Help

Hi all
I finally got round to sorting my climate control unit today and before purchasing a replacement unit, I went for one final google search and found a post about my exact problem.
It explained that the solder on the sensor behind the climate control adjuster button had cracked and simply needed resoldering.
I followed the post and hey presto I now have heat on the drivers side of my car
This link below is in Russian (I think) I translated it using google translate but the photos do help.

Cheers for all your help, I hope this helps people in the future.

Re: Climate control faulty 2009 C5 VTR NAV +
That is not unlike the problem that can affect the 'resistor module' on the C5 Mk1 in that the solder joints for the two connectors fails over time, possibly due to the electrical load placed on them.
