There is normally a fuse related to the diagnostics port. Has this been checked?

That's why I didn't bother suggesting the OBD end of the wiring - as you already had another bit of kit working. So has to be VCI or comms related (USB / drivers / Firewall etc.).

Hi there. I'd really appreciate your help.

I've been trying to diagnose a problem with my 2015 Euro5 Peugeot Expert 2.0Hdo 130bhp since May 2022. I've asked questions in here too.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop running Win7 64 . It's a core i3 @ 2.3ghz and 6gb ram.

I have Diagbox installed on an XP machine running v 7.76 but I want to upgrade to v9 for the latest info and my van was registered Nov 11 2015. (I think)

Currently trying to run the v9 VM, but i'm using VMplayer 15.5.7

Paaah, i don't even know what to ask. I can't get it to work.

What do i need to do to get this sorted.?

9.68 is no longer up to date
WIN 10 pro 64 bit is ideal for a VM installation.
On WIN 7 pro 64 Bit it should be possible up to 9.125.
In the meantime there are free possibilities (donation requested) to install the DIAGBOX 9 directly, alternatively of course also on VM.
However, a VM installation is only possible if "virtualisation" is possible - this is often the problem with older (processor) laptops.

Could anyone tell me for certain what v of Diagbox I need for my van please? I've been going around in circles for 9 months. Using v7.76 and a few of the ECU's aren't recognised.

2015 Expert 2.0 hdi 130bhp. VIN: VF3**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff] Date of Registration: 20-01-2016

Thanks very much.

Thanks very much.
This does not have to be due to the software, the China clone could also be responsible.
For vehicles from mid-2015, the higher software 9.xx is usually the better/safer variant.
However, if the VCI is already faulty with the DB 7.xx, then this will not improve with a higher software.
Recommendation: Buy from easy-diagnostic or use a used original VCI - regardless of the software.

Thanks. I bought the unit with the supposed much needed chips form Amazon. I haven't actually looked inside it, though it has been suggested by Givemeabreak that I could be in the middle of updates.

I'm starting to think I should just start a complete new thread using Diagbox 7.76 as my tool and see if i can make any progress to diagnose my symptoms.

Please don't start multiple threads, just stick to one for the specific issue.

Please don't get confused with what I said on the other thread. You can't simply carry on upgrading, V7 is no longer updated and hasn't been since about late 2015.

Diabbox 9.** is a totally different installation and cannot be installed with DB V7 in coexistence on the same system unless running V9.** in a Virtual Machine.

So you need to decide whether it is your VCI that has missing hardware (generally any kit that was under a £100 is a general) guide or the software is too early for your vehicle or a combination of both.

Thanks Marc, i wasn't going to start another thread about Diagbox, but my symptoms on the van, then make use of Diagbox to look for the answers. As I already have a working v7.76 I was hoping it might be enough to find my low power issue for the last 9 months.

I can't really decide on anything as I'm still not sure what I'm missing. How can i determine if my VCI is at fault? What I'm hoping for is a definite answer as to what v of Diagbox I need. There'sa lot i can read using 7.76. Injection timings and fuel rail pressure for instance.

Based on the advice i'm being given i'm still not sure what I need to do.

Thanks again for coming back to me.

This is the issue, to be honest, as there are so many sellers of these clones, that unless you open up the unit and know what you're looking for on the boards (specific resistor, chips, Optocouplers) etc. it will be hard for us to do that on the Forum - the other added issue is that the software is not supported by Citroen as it has been 'modified' to allow use by the DIYer or small garage mechanic.

You either need to forget all about Diagbox (and return your VCI to Amazon) then get something else that will read your Van and give you live data.

We're not going to get anywhere fast here as we simply don't know your hardware components or whether DB7 will work given the lateness of your VAN.

"How can I tell if my VCI is at fault?"

Ask a friendly forum member who has a correctly functioning DB for help and then try it out.

I can get Live Data....I'm just not sure what to do with it. :O Today I was reading the Fuel Rail Pressure, but there are no faults at all on the van. My friend thinks it's a blocked DPF as the readings on another app FAP from Amazon Citroen/Peugeot Specific , suggests it is nearing end of life and 93% blocked with Cinder, not Soot.

Maybe we cold start with what I can actually read?

Thanks for sticking with me fella's While the van runs and I have completed over 5000 miles in it, it's not running right.

Here's what I can gather so far:
