This problem has carried over onto the C5. When I had the rear brakes on my first C5 sorted I had the mechanic put gasket paper between the callipers and the trailing arms, but we never got to see how well that worked, as somebody went into the back of her 18 months later.

ah i think i just secretly just wanna get my hands dirty and take stuff apart :-D , its probably not necessary but i would love to have some shiny new calipers on the underside of my car even if the rest looks like remains of a old abandoned plane crash.
ah yeah its because the strut tops are really bad, they have completely corroded and one strut is higher than the other. i think i posted about it here earlier somewhere but here's a pick to show you what it looks like  pretty scary. im not sure whether i can get them refurbed if i can get some new ones ive been looking for some on ebay and places like do that. ill have to see.

New ones unobtainable, unless someone's been sitting on new old stock. Don't risk secondhand ones.
Best to send yours to Elastomer.eu (in Kaunas, Lithuania), who do a superb exchange/rebuild with new polymer.
Their website has full details, and the dispatch/return procedure.

I am hoping to get her fixed. With any luck only rocker arms will have been damaged.

Wrong C5. That was the first one I had, and I have not had to get the rear callipers sorted out on my current C5 (or the second one, although the gentleman who now has her did have to work on them).

If I was unsure I would just order both and then return the others (my guess would be the larger size) or just measure the caliper piston :?:
