Staying in the 80s. After splitting away from the Human League Glen Gregory formed Heaven 17. Here they are with Temptation.

Some twenty years earlier than that we have the Honeycombs with Have I The Right. Try to ignore the Jimmy Savile intro...

Still in the sixties The Honeybus - I Can't Let Maggie Go. I can't find a period live performance unfortunately. I did toy with posting a video of the Nimble advert as it was used as a backing track to that.

A decade earlier than that I present Johnny And The Hurricanes - Reveille Rock. I couldn't find a live performance from that time but here's a great rendition from 1997.

This is the last one on my list for the moment. Half Man Half Biscuit - Trumpton Riots. A John Peel favourite and a really local band to me.

Tom Petty for me would have been "American Girl" just because that was the one I played on the Students Union Jukebox! and was part of the soundtrack to those times.... its on the PE Jukebox!

I especially like the guitar on I Won't Back Down, which is why I chose it. But it's difficult to make a single choice.

Hall & Oates

Seems quite pass-byable. Daryl Hall seems far better more recently

Looks very much like Gretchen Menn on guitar.
