Even earlier in the sixties. This is the band that the Beatles pinched Ringo Starr out of to replace Pete Best. At one time they were more popular than the Beatles in Liverpool. This seems to be the only live performance I can find and that's not Ringo on the drums according to one poster of this clip. It's not very good quality video but I think it might be Ringo as the drumming style is very like his.

Rory Storm & The Hurricanes - I Can Tell

I'm inclined to agree with you Paul, the left leg position, the head nods and the right arm lift are all very Ringo, not to mention the brief glimpse of his nose!
