Lexia live data should tell you whether the engine ECU has commanded the fan to run, and if so, give a hint as to why.

Thanks will give it a try, but as the temp sensor is working , i dont believe the ecu had commanded it to run, i think maybe a relay has jammed allowing permanent feed to become too permanent !

Went out to do some bits on car, decided to get engine hot to check fans , decided to replug in fast fan as engine was running,admiral51 wrote: ↑10 Dec 2020, 19:42That is my line of thought, but as always just thinking out loudVINCENTFISHING wrote: ↑10 Dec 2020, 19:31 Thanks will give it a try, but as the temp sensor is working , i dont believe the ecu had commanded it to run, i think maybe a relay has jammed allowing permanent feed to become too permanent !

it didnt come on !
turned off engine to see if it came on ,,,,no.
Think that when i was on lexia yesterday and cleared all faults, it must have had a permanent fault caused by old burnt out ecu , then cleared by me yesterday and bingo ,no fault, a bonus,
while doing bits , looked at boot release (flappy bit missing,) looked like it was an easy pull off , push on fit, went to my other xsara picasso armed with screwdriver, had it released on on project car in seconds.
have a 3'' crack in n/s of windscreen, have ordered some crack repair of ebay to see if it works, then car going up for sale and looking for new project !
one other thing i almost forgot mileage in replacement bsi 84000, which is about 8k more than original so not too bad.
also tried to sync old push button fob with no joy , presume theres something else to do to get remote locking working.
