I usually fit Sailun Atrezzo's but couldn't get any when I heeded them, put Toyo's on and they seem quite capable. Lasting well too. The C5s got through them in no time flat.

This is a music video with a difference, not really fit for the P E Jukebox but I enjoyed it as much for the setting as the music and have made a mental note to visit when in the area!! :-D

Just goes to show how different we all are, I wouldn't put Aretha in my top 20 let alone at number one!! :-D

It surely does, I'm half your age and chose Aretha as NO1 for me. I wonder if it's more influenced on what you hear growing up rather than what's the best....What is classified as the best? It's all subjective unless certain criteria have to be met.

As you say Ryan the 'best' is totally subjective in more or less anything which is designed to entertain. I was in my 20s when Karen came along so my beliefs are not based on my growing up, I simply think she has the best overall female singing voice I have ever heard, before or since. For me it is in the right tonal zone and her control is unbelievable, her power is latent most of the time and her tuning is faultless. I genuinely cannot think of another woman who has a similar rating for my preferences!! There are many who meet 1, 2, or even 3 of my wishes but none other who measure up in all 4!! :-D

Lol, my teenage boy 2 days ago said that you don't turn into an adult until your 30!! It's online, so must be true... So what are your 4 bits of criteria that Karen Carpenter could do that no other singer could?

The four facets of her voice that I mentioned in the last post, tone, power, control and tune. As I said I do not know any other woman whose voice fits my desires in all of those aspects. There are many, in fact most, who are tuneful, many have control, a few have the power and a few are in my preferred tonal range but only Karen combines all four to a high level!! :-D

From those 2nd and 3rd choices combined with your first it is clear that your preferences in general are higher up the tonal scale than mine. I go for a contralto voice every time with occasional acceptance of a mezza but soprano ranges are just too shrill for me. As ever the world would be a very dull place if all these options didn't exist! :-D As for showing the page to SWMBO, good luck with that, she is well aware of my tastes and agrees with me about Karen!! :rofl2:
