I think you’ve pretty much exhausted the DIY Avenue at this point. It may be that the internal flash memory is corrupt so can’t write anything.

I’ve run out of ideas, so maybe time to send it off to somewhere like Autronics?

A few here have used Autronics - address details here with a few others:

People have been sending them off for years now to him, including a recent chap here - all fixed with similar issues.

Hi. I manage to find a RT6 in a scrap yard. If I but it then is it possible to code it with my car? Can I code it myself with Diagbox?

Thanks

Is the RT6 unit from the same model - i.e. a 3008?

They're different part numbers but that may simply be because it's a supersession (later firmware perhaps). Unfortunately part number queries with PSA are now chargeable which means that the forum has to pass this on and, in turn, the forum needs a donation from you if information from there is needed.

I'll have to leave this to others now.

You will be able to VIN code it with Diagbox and it should work There were different versions of the RT6 for different electronic architectures and some had slightly different hardware for the rear video camera on some models. The only way is to try it and see.

But be aware.... Depending on the firmware version of the replacement unit - it may be locked. If the new unit has firmware 2.86 installed, then it may make some of the telecoding options impossible for some of the functions as the unit can be locked into a secure mode. This can normally only be telecoded by a connection to PSA severs at the dealer - or by using Mirascripts - but that is something we can't go into here.

I'm hoping that as this is from the same model (albeit a newer unit) that the RT6 will already be coded for most of the basic functions - but things like parking assistance type may be different to your vehicle for example. You may be lucky. Try going into the main customer options menu and looking for the Audio section to see if it will show you any options to VIN code the unit there first.

If not, try running a global test, then going into the RT6 ECU (it may come up as RNEG or RNEG2010), select this and then see if you can find the option to VIN code it there - probably in manual configuration section.

Just make sure you disconnect the battery following the procedure before removing and fitting, because the units remain live when the ignition is switched off and removing the unit cables in the wrong order can damage the multifunction display and / or the unit.

Hi. Received the unit and connected it. It powered on and it keep beeping. Its because of the VIN not configured I think. The firmware is 2.80. I will connect my pc and try to update the VIN code fist and see if it works. Will update after that because I think need more configuration as well because the Hybrid information is not showing on the display. Thanks

If you're thinking of updating the firmware then make sure that you've changed all options beforehand in case it gets locked into secure mode.

Having said that, why update if everything's working OK? Sometimes a firmware update can be for only a limited number of cars and may not have any effect on your own vehicle.

Yes you are right. I need to configure everything first and if everything is working then no need to update firmware. At the moment diagbox is not detecting VIN. I installed 7.85 and did a global test on my car when this problem starts. I already have an old clone interface I used for my 307 few years back on pp2000. I update the interface to Rev C and it works on 7.85 and global test works fine other than few ecu not responding. Then I follow this forum and note the version should be around 7.57 to configure the options. So I install 7.57 on a another VM on windows 7. By the way the 7.85 was also on VM on XP.

Today when I plug it in to put the VIN into new unit. It didn't detect the VIN and after putting VIN manually all the cpus not responding. I tried both 7.85 which worked before and 7.57 which I install just now. Don't know what happen. Interface seems to load the drivers OK and also shows RevC in Lexia Interface Checker.

Thanks
